Will you allow me to wax nostalgic for a moment? This is Melissa, my beloved motorcycle. She is 15 years old this year (2019) and has 113,356 miles on her. I bought her brand new with zero miles, so we've had quite the adventures together. We have roamed, literally, all over Florida and much of Georgia. Roadtrips, daytrips, overnight stays...mostly just joy riding: riding for the love of the road and the pleasure of the sensation of speed experienced on two wheels.
We've also ridden into some paranormal adventures together, but that's a whole other story (actually, a book).
She's never let me down, she'll still shine up like a new dime, and she runs like a scalded-ass ape...she runs better than the day she was brand new!
99% of our miles are highway miles, but she gets around town great as well.
There are many wonderful memories I enjoy because of this bike, and I'm looking forward to many more wonderful miles as we continue to roam together.
You were born to dance to the beat of your own heart.
To roam without cages, with the innocence of a
child and the free spirit of untamed horses.
I hope you laugh without stopping, live with abandon,
and love like thats all there is,
stay wild, my wild, wild, child.
Hey all! Sorry I have been quiet on here lately. I just recently moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado so I will have more content and inspiration than ever before! The other night I went roaming around The Great Sand Dunes and felt as if I was "the martian" left all alone on the planet mars.
Deerfield Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is located just south of the Palm Beach County line. The city is named for the numerous deer that once roamed the area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 75,018. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people at the 2015 census.
Deerfield Beach's history dates back to 1890 when a small settlement named Hillsborough was developed along the Hillsboro River. As the population grew to 20 by 1898, the settlement was now served by its own post office and the town was named Deerfield for the deer that grazed along the Hillsboro River.
By the early twentieth century, as the town's population continued to grow, the Florida East Coast Railroad constructed tracks en route to Miami bisecting Deerfield. Deerfield's early settlers were mostly farmers who grew pineapples, tomatoes, green beans, squash and fished along the Intracoastal Waterway. Through the 1940s, Deerfield remained a largely agricultural based community, but in 1939 the town's name was changed to Deerfield Beach to let tourists know it has a beach.

Day 14 of #inktober - prompt: Roam
How many online meetings have I sat through while my mind roamed freely through the landscapes of my imagination?
The inktober challenge is very simple. Just draw the prompt of the day in ink and publish it using the inktober hashtags. After a few years where I passed my turn, I am trying this 2024 edition even though it will be a month full of activities and commitments. I chose the free-style of the continuous line to represent the prompt, without fuss or colors.
I hope you like it!

"I can't stand being in this house. In the first place, it makes me terribly nervous. I'm scared to death of doors, locks, people roaming around in the background, under the trees, in the bushes, I'm absolutely terrified."

A deer eyes a bouquet laid at the grave of a fallen American soldier. Located along the western banks of the Mississippi River, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery is an awesome and solemn place. Deer roam freely throughout the grounds; visitors are practically guaranteed to see a number of them year around, especially in the early evening hours.
Wandering around Santa Ana was one of my favorite places to roam freely and take in the local life. Where the day-to-day life shares mutual respect and boundaries with Man's best friend.
Nothing like roaming aimlessly through the hills in a rain storm. Especially when the clouds part just a touch, exposing the land on which you wander.
Hard not to be in a flower shooting mood when the hills are alive.
