Every once and a while I like a photo from my iPhone. This is one of them. Beautiful warm fall day today.
I am a cyclist and ride heaps throughout the year. My favourite rides are our early morning Sunday group rides. A little secret about Gunma prefecture in Japan is that it is an amazing place to cycle (except for all the climbing). Endless mountain roads in all directions with no cars. Often we see monkeys, deer, wild boar and bear! Some of the cyclists have bells on their bikes to scare the bears away (I don't know if it works). Here's this mornings iPhone shot and some Photoshop fun.
I'm really enjoying my iphone 11 pro camera on my bike rides. It's not as good as a DSLR but it can still capture a few good shots I otherwise wouldn't have taken.
The B4 road from Luderitz to Aus in Namibia must be one of the loneliest roads to cycle on in the world. The road passes the ghost town of Kolmanskop which is one of my favourite photographic places.
October 6, 2926, 26.26-mile road bike ride from East Boulder to a dead end on 95th and then turnaround and ride to Niwot and up the 79th Street wall.

After the rain stopped I headed out on the road with no plan. I did a nice loop to Savage and back. 60% road 40% bike path. The path follows the Little Patuxent River for several miles. I was struck by how strong the river was flowing.

Progress? Construction around me is on a tear. Warehouses, townhouse and single family homes every where I go.

One of the reasons we love camping at Marster Springs near Paisley, Oregon is road riding. There are hundreds of miles of remote, paved, single lane roads to ride skinny tires on. This is a ride Margo, Linda, Vivian, and I did from Marster Springs to Dairy Creek Campground.
June 22, 2025, 15.07-mile Sunday late-afternoon solo ride to the east and south of Boulder, Colorado.
Palindrome. Well the sun was shining, my friend Dave and I met up for a ride, our start coincided with the start of light rain, temp dropped and the wind picked up. We managed a 16 mile ride and about a mile before we finished the sun came out and the temperature went up about 15 degrees. Oh well we were mocked by Mother Nature. Unusual weather is expected on Groundhog Day.
