Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia sticks out at night with its bright lights. The darker area in the centre of the city is remarkable, but I don't know for sure what it is.

Zwischen Riyadh und Dammam betreibt die SAR (Saudi Arabia Railways) einen Schnellverkehr mit Dieseltriebwagen vom spanischen Hersteller CAF. Die 10 bis zu 180 km/h schnellen Einheiten (5001-5010) aus dem Jahr 2011 fahren täglich sechs Zugpaare und einen Zusatzzug zwischen Hofuf und Dammam. Die Züge werden an den Endpunkten jeweils gedreht und fahren grundsätzlich Steuerwagen voraus. Im Bild zu sehen ist die Einheit 5010 als "Modern" Riyadh 11:20 nach Dammam bei Al Jawiyah am 23.11.2021.

SAR (Saudi Arabia Railways) is connecting Riyadh and Dammam with six pairs of passengers services. The trains are operated by CAF built DMU class 5001-5010 which are able to run 180 km/h. In the picture trainset 5010 is seeing as train "Modern" 11:20 Riyadh to Dammam near Al Jawiyah at November 23, 2021.

It turns out that ostriches also prefer the direct route through Riyadh on King Fahad Rd. They didn't appear to be tied down, but moved around as the truck stopped and started in the heavy traffic.

And yes, they have woolly socks over their heads.
