Standing at just seven feet shorter than the Eiffel Tower, The Shard at 1,015 feet isn't quite the tallest building in Western Europe. Meanwhile Tower Bridge looks diminutive in this view along the River Thames.

Two or three miles east of Gravesend, nearing the end of the stretch of river known as Gravesend Reach; in the distance, two ships are turning into Gravesend Reach.
The river has all sorts of different "looks" - depending on the light, cloud cover, wind, direction of the water (the Thames is tidal) and whatever things I haven't mentioned and don't know about...

Behind the bridge lets the twin towers of Cannon Street Station, the dome of St Paul's Cathedral, and the glazed offices of Riverbank House.
