We decided to use the Chain Ferry at Reedham, rather than either a 12 mile drive to Yarmouth, or a 12 mile drive to Norwich, neither very nice in the rush hour.
This is the sole means of crossing the River Yare with a vehicle, as there are no other crossings between the two above locations. A nice and quirky ride too.
Today's theme is the Hastings River. On a summers morning in 2009 my brother took me out to see the sunrise on the Hastings River in New South Wales. It was a sublime morning of changing light and colours capped with an escort of dolphins who played around and swam with our boat. Today, three photos from that wonderful morning.
A capture along the pretty river there in Ohiopyle State Park. Nice with the fog and Fall colors starting there.
The pretty Greenbrier River there in West Virginia. There are some decks along those homes through the trees ... so Happy Fence Friday as well :)
Highway 62 going east and west, the bridge over the Arkansas River, the Port of Muskogee is seen through the bridge. I may be landlocked in Oklahoma, but this navigation system using the Arkansas River with the locks and dams does connect me with the Gulf of Mexico and the world. Wide thoughts though the Wide Angle lens.
I was wandering along a path in a steep wooded hillside .... mainly oak, birch and hazel, all dripping with mosses and lichens and liverworts and wildflowers .... a magical place. The shots in this little series are of the river which was cascading down a gorge over beautiful boulders. The light was catching it, creating these patterns.
Fish River Canyon, Namibia. Der Fish River Canyon gilt nach dem Grand Canyon als zweitgrößter Canyon der Erde.
We didn't see too many yellow stones but these autumn leaves surely stood out along the bank of the Yellowstone River.
The San Juan River, in Nicaragua, was running high and dirty when I visited the country some years ago. This made for difficult fishing but produced some picturesque, jungle river scenery as we drifted downstream.
