It was time to get a proper frame for more heavy-duty commuting that I do, and I chose this beautiful Hillborne frame by Rivendell in black. It's rapidly become my favorite bike to ride, and inevitably causing me to find all the great remaining dirt roads and trails in my area. The bike is happiest on these secluded trails. The frame is a 62cm, nice and sturdy with the second top tube retriangulating the frame, and enough braze-ons to configure it any which way. I chose the Rivendell style of being able to rapidly reconfigure the bike, so I went with accessories that are easy to install and remove. Because of this, it's an ongoing experiment.
At the time of this uploading, it's equipped with a mix of existing components and a few new ones I picked out: Silver sidepull brakes, Specialties TA Carmina crankset, Shimano Altus rear derailleur, Micro-shift front derailleur, Albastache bars, Gran Compe levers, Suntour shifters, Brooks B17 flyer saddle, Berthoud seatbag, Nitto Campee rack, Pletcher double kickstand. VO Touring hub w/ Raid rims, SRAM Dynamo front hub, SKS fenders, Panaracer 38c tires.
