Ankara, Turkey (Turkiye)
Mustafa Atatürk is considered the father of the modern Turkish Republic. He wanted a modern, secular state to bring Turkey into the 20th century.
From Wikipedia
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk,[a] or Mustafa Kemal Pasha[b] until 1921, and Ghazi Mustafa Kemal[c] from 1921 until 1934[3] (c. 1881[d] – 10 November 1938) was a Turkish field marshal, revolutionary statesman, author, and the founding father of the Republic of Turkey, serving as its first president from 1923 until his death in 1938. He undertook sweeping progressive reforms, which modernized Turkey into a secular, industrializing nation. Ideologically a secularist and nationalist, his policies and socio-political theories became known as Kemalism. Due to his military and political accomplishments, Atatürk is regarded as one of the most important political leaders of the 20th century.
Atatürk came to prominence for his role in securing the Ottoman Turkish victory at the Battle of Gallipoli (1915) during World War I. Following the defeat and dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, he led the Turkish National Movement, which resisted mainland Turkey's partition among the victorious Allied powers. Establishing a provisional government in the present-day Turkish capital Ankara (known in English at the time as Angora), he defeated the forces sent by the Allies, thus emerging victorious from what was later referred to as the Turkish War of Independence. He subsequently proceeded to abolish the decrepit Ottoman Empire and proclaimed the foundation of the Turkish Republic in its place.
As the president of the newly formed Turkish Republic, Atatürk initiated a rigorous program of political, economic, and cultural reforms with the ultimate aim of building a modern, progressive and secular nation-state. He made primary education free and compulsory, opening thousands of new schools all over the country. He also introduced the Latin-based Turkish alphabet, replacing the old Ottoman Turkish alphabet. Turkish women received equal civil and political rights during Atatürk's presidency. In particular, women were given voting rights in local elections by Act no. 1580 on 3 April 1930 and a few years later, in 1934, full universal suffrage.

During last months Photo24 event I foud myself in the proximity of the giant no.5 at the MAKE Architects Broadgate development in London.
I always take a similar shot to this if I'm passing as throughout the year it decorated for Remembrance Day, Christmas etc so it was good to add a Pride themed shot to my collection even if the passing couple are somewhat at odds with the diversity message......

From MAKE Architects website : "Our world-class headquarters for financial services firm UBS have raised the bar for office and workplace design. We worked with developer British Land to design a functional, pragmatic space that allows UBS to consolidate its London workforce for the first time. The result – a 13-storey ‘groundscraper’ – is visually innovative and represents a powerful vote of confidence in the City. Furthermore, it’s become a catalyst for regeneration in the Broadgate area.
We based our bold design on the form of a perfectly machined metal object – a symbol of the building’s internal function. The main facade is primarily constructed from stainless steel, which unifies the surface, establishes a strong presence, and reflects its bespoke nature and single occupier. This sense of robustness is rigorously carried through to the detailing, materiality and finishes, reflecting an architectural language of quality and precision. Inside, an ultra-rational arrangement of the structure and cores provides four large trading floors that can accommodate up to 3,000 desks, plus seven levels of offices."

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
“A concise poem about our work as stated elow
A place without being
a thought without thinking
creatively, two dimensions
suspended animation
possibly a perfect imitation
of what was then to see.
A frozen memory in synthetic colour
or black and white instead,
fantasy dreams in magazines
become imbedded inside my head.
Artistic views
surrealistic hues,
a photographer’s instinctive eye:
for he does as he pleases
up to that point he releases,
then develops a visual high.

As if by magic, Federico Fellini’s legendary black and white film 8½ makes an appearance in colour, immortalised by Paul Ronald. The producers asked him to photograph scenes in black and white. But Ronald had two Hasselblad cameras, and he loaded the second one with a roll of colour film, not knowing what he would do with it.Colour reveals all. It underscores the aesthetic choices’ resolute modernity, from the sets to Piero Gherardi’s costumes, the eminently contemporary figures of Anouk Aimée and Claudia Cardinale, and Marcello Mastroianni’s lecherous poses. It takes us out of the film’s rigorous structure, brings us behind the scenes and shows us the festive mood that prevailed on Fellini’s set.8½ was the last black and white film in a long series that the master began making in the early 1950s. It was never intended to be seen in colour, but Piero Servo recently found Ronald’s long-forgotten box of negatives.
He was really a handsome man !! This capture could have been taken to day, this model has not aged in 60 years.

Seen almost straight on, the Sarah Mish House becomes a study in how a narrow Victorian façade organizes complexity. The camera suppresses most side depth and places the steep entry stair against the lower right, turning circulation into a strong diagonal that cuts across an otherwise vertical composition. Above it, two unequal bays rise through the elevation. The broader left bay gathers tall windows beneath a projecting cornice, while the slimmer right bay aligns with the recessed entrance and a small gabled hood. Their asymmetry is held together by continuous horizontal bands, bracketed cornices, and a rigorous painted outline. Gray siding acts as negative space for an extraordinary palette of magenta, mustard, cream, red, and green. Rather than merely decorating the house, those colors identify joints, moldings, panels, finials, and turned elements, making the façade’s assembly legible at a glance. The generous white sky isolates the roofline, while tightly cropped neighboring buildings reinforce the pressure of the narrow Oak Street lot. At ground level, the house number, landmark plaque, basement windows, and small planted margins keep the ornate elevation connected to use and address. This frontal view interprets the building almost as architectural cabinetry: layered, fitted, and calibrated to the inch. Where the preceding oblique photograph emphasized depth and garden cover, this image makes the public face itself the subject—a disciplined system whose visual abundance depends on precise order.
Bartolomeo Cincani called "il Montagna" (Orzinuovi, 1449/1450 - Vicenza, 1523) - detail of musician angels - Madonna and Child Enthroned between Saints Andrew, Monica, Ursula and Sigismund (1499) - oil on canvas 410 x 260 cm - Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan
The canvas comes from the chapel of Santa Monica in San Michele in Vicenza, owned by the Squarzi family, from where it arrived in Brera following the Napoleonic suppressions. The figures, made monumental by a very low point of view, inhabit a solemn and colorful architecture. It is not, however, a closed space: oculi and arches let in streams of light that make the atmosphere mobile, a goldfinch has settled on the tie rod of an arch, trees and the sky peep out between the saints. The rigorous perspective, the shadows and the complex drapery testify to the author's journey to Lombardy and the influence exerted on him by the works of Bramante.

To prepare for its launch in August, the Psyche spacecraft was tested to ensure it can operate in the extreme conditions it will face on its trip to a metal-rich asteroid.
The conditions that a NASA spacecraft endures are extreme: the violent shaking and cacophony of a rocket launch, the jolt of separating from the launch vehicle, the extreme temperature fluctuations in and out of the Sun’s rays, the unforgiving vacuum of space.
Before launch, engineers do their best to replicate these harsh conditions in a rigorous series of tests to ensure the spacecraft can withstand them. NASA’s Psyche spacecraft just completed its own gauntlet of electromagnetic, thermal-vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic testing at the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. Psyche was deemed healthy and ready to proceed toward launch.

A grubby DR "Ludmilla" 132 428-4 with an inter-regional express approaching the border town of Helmstedt on 7th January 1978. Just over a mile along the line from here it would have crossed the guarded GDR/FRG Inner German Border, and a further two miles in the forest before the border defences, all passengers and the coaches would have been subjected to rigorous security checks at Marienborn, with armed guards surveying the train as paperwork and searches were conducted within, and sniffer dogs checking all coaches both internally and externally.

Proctor Scorpio, best known by his public name Sir reginald Pentecost III, was born in 1277. As the son of a Britsh Lord Reginald had acces to many luxuries that were quite uncommon in his time. After his father, Sir Pentecost II, went to war and lost his life in a gruesome battle, Reginald himself swore to defend his household with all his might.
Upon discovering he was a Soulcaster he was quickly taken in by the orde of Proctors and trained in the most rigorous of environments. Quickly, the soulcaster became a known sight on many european battlefields as the centuries went on. Often, he was referred to as "Black Mamba" or "The Reaper".
Later in life, when the previous Proctor Scorpio perished, it was Reginald who took up the title and now, armed with Nagisa the Scythe of Corrosion and Rust and with his ability to switch scars between himself and others, Proctor scorpio still roams the world to this very day, ready to reap..

A novice monk studies a book under the sunlight streaming in from the window of a sacred temple in Bagan, Myanmar. In Myanmar, books and learning are vital for young monks, who begin their education in monasteries from a young age. Monastic education includes studying Buddhist scriptures, Pali language, and traditional subjects like mathematics, history, and literature. This rigorous education fosters discipline, moral development, and deep understanding of Buddhist teachings. Monasteries serve as key educational institutions, especially in rural areas where access to secular education is limited. Through their studies, young monks gain spiritual and intellectual growth, equipping them with knowledge and values that influence their communities positively and preserve Myanmar’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
The Fifth Evocation - Russian Times of Repentance by Daniel Arrhakis (2022)
The Prophecies of Ion are previews or reflections on the evolution of our times and in a creative way point to hypothetical futures of humanity.
Although they have a creative and artistic character, more than messianic predictions, they promote an analysis and discussion about our society and about several hypothetical futures that will always depend on the choices we make.
The fifth evocation is just one of the consequences of The Fourth Ion Prophecy - The Fall Of Ivan.
The next text to which I designate "The Fifth Evocation" must be seen in this context.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine was not foreseen in most astral and mystical predictions, although there was the possibility of a major conflict in the near future.
This sudden invasion has set in motion a series of events that have interfered with space/time lines in a way that could endanger all of humanity in the near future.
On the other hand, the City of Odessa is also at a confluence of hypothetical intersecting events that could trigger the Third World War.
If the war in Ukraine does not end soon, there could be several dramatic events in the world but especially in Russia...
Various celestial events point to a deadline... October 13, 2022... from this date... anything can happen...

The Fifth Evocation - Russian Times of Repentance
"And from Siberia the winds will rise through many and rigorous winters with the strength of those who were killed without mercy and their lamentations will enter through the cracks of the houses and temples of those who were indifferent to them.
And the black frosts will freeze the fields and the hearts of those who chose to turn a blind eye to injustices as well as those who supported a brutal and senseless war.
Years of drought and extreme Summer heat will set fire to forests and wheat fields as if they were turned aimlessly, and not even the temples of faith will be safe.
And the mists will cover the silences of death with shame and frighten the nights of those who took up arms against defenseless innocents.
In the end, the ancient plagues will be unearthed like cursed herds that roam across hills and valleys so the Times of Repentance will no longer be forgotten.
And in the end, cursed be those who brought about war, famine, and death, as well as those who plundered and destroyed so many defenseless cities.
And when the Serpent reigns in the night skies, may the revolt leave no stone unturned, so that the fiery horses may lead the damned tsar forever straight to hell. "
And may the echo of memories never erase the heinous crimes that the Czar's armies carried out in the lands of bread and sunflowers.
Peace to Ukraine and Glory forever, may the memory of those who died in the struggle for freedom be forgotten no more!

So many stories swirl around the Hellfire Club, most of them apocryphal, that it is almost impossible to sort fact from fiction.
What is known is the caves were excavated between 1748 and 1752 for the wildly eccentric Francis Dashwood, 11th Baron le Despencer (2nd Baronet), founder of the Society of Dilettanti and co-founder of the Hellfire Club, (a name I think which was attributed long after) whose meetings were held in the caves and which were said to have been 'rigorously pagan'.
Cut out of chalk and flint the caverns extend 260m underground and form a series of chambers connected by long narrow tunnels.
However, apart from the wild indulgences of the aristocracy, they did have a serious purpose. During the late 1740s, to try to combat local poverty, Sir Francis Dashwood commissioned an ambitious project to supply chalk for a straight three mile (5 km) road between West Wycombe and High Wycombe (then on the busy London-Oxford road, now the A40).
That road still runs straight towards the town of High Wycombe and is clearly visible from the hill and the gloomy mausoleum directly above the caves.

The Almo Collegio Borromeo is a private university hall of residence (collegio) in Pavia, region of Lombardy, Italy. It is classified as a "highly qualified Cultural Institute" by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and is the oldest such institution remaining in operation in Italy. Together with Collegio Ghislieri – with which a sharp goliardic rivalry has developed during the centuries – it is one of two colleges in Pavia with historical heritage. The building that houses the college was designed by Pellegrino Tibaldi, and overlooks the Ticino, surrounded by landscaped gardens and the Borromeo Gardens. Vasari described it as a "palace of knowledge" ("palazzo per la Sapienza").
The college selects students of the University of Pavia through a rigorous public competition based on tests taken annually. The services offered by the college are not limited to food and housing, but rather are focused on providing training in parallel and integrated with the university: for example, CEGA (Center for General and Applied Ethics) is hosted by the college; along with conferences, presentations of books on current affairs, hosting the chair in theology, and offering countless moments of reflection, in addition to the ever-rich artistic and musical seasons in the life of the college. The college also offers various exchange programmes, with institutions such as Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.
Collegio Borromeo was founded in 1561 by the estate of cardinal St. Charles Borromeo which aimed to create an institution to accommodate young promising students experiencing economic hardship. This is still the aim of the Fondazione Collegio Borromeo. On May 10, 2009, the Women's Section was opened in the presence of Minister Mariastella Gelmini and Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi; it is intended to accommodate approximately fifty of the most deserving female students from the University of Pavia.
The student rooms are divided according to the sides of the building: "Piazza" ("Square") on the western side, facing Piazza Borromeo, "Giardino" ("Garden") on the south side, "Vicolo" ("Lane") on the north side, looking onto Via Cardinal Tosi. The east side is called "Richini", as it is situated on a seventeenth-century garden designed by Francesco Maria Richini, and houses two auditorium-style rooms ("White Room" and "Mural Room") with private upstairs rooms for guests. The rooms are also divided into several levels: "Mezzanino" (mezzanine), "Nobile" (piano nobile), "Paradiso" (second mezzanine) and "Iperuranio" (attic). Also on the south side are "Sangiovannino alto" and "basso" ("Upper" and "Lower"), saved from the Church of San Giovanni in Borgo before demolition in the nineteenth century.
College admission follows an open, meritocratic competition divided into a variety of assessments; only those who have obtained a minimum score of 80 in their graduation exam may apply for the admissions competition. This competition is now run in conjunction with the Scuola Superiore Studi Pavia IUSS, the School for Advanced Studies, of which the Almo Collegio Borromeo is a founding member and, indeed, the admission test is valid for access to IUSS courses to the extent of space reserved for the college. Nevertheless, it is important to note that the gaining a place at Borromeo does not automatically secure a place in IUSS: although it is not the norm, there are students of Borromeo who are not students of IUSS, as the rankings of the IUSS competition and the Borromeo competition are separate and follow different criteria (distinguishing different classes and thresholds).
The first part of the competition includes a written test administered by the IUSS, divided into the following disciplines: Italian, Latin, History, Philosophy, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry problems were recently introduced. One can choose the track and the exercises regardless of the degree course chosen and can obtain a maximum score of 20 points from this written test. Those obtaining a minimum score of 12 points in the written test are invited to two oral examinations. In these, candidates are tested on the content of their last three years of high school in two subjects of their choice, however relevant to their degree course. The test begins from a topic chosen by the student and listed in the schedule ("tesario"; containing the list of topics to prepare for each discipline). The oral exam can provide up to 60 points, 30 for each interview. Additionally, as part of these tests, the candidate is interviewed by the appropriate college Rector and, in order to gauge the strength of compatible cultural background, he or she has a test of general knowledge and an aptitude interview with a psychologist seeking to determine eligibility for collegiate life. The latter tests have no value for the IUSS competition but contribute 20 points overall towards Borromeo entry. To be eligible, a candidate must achieve the minimum score of 65 points.
To retain their place at the college, students are required to have a university average of at least 27/30, with no marks below 24, and to pass all required exams by the formal closing of the academic year. The ability to speak at least two foreign languages is required, demonstrated through specific, internationally recognized certificates. Students must also attend additional courses required by IUSS or, alternatively, take at least two internal courses per academic year.
Machu Picchu is one of the most important cultural sites in Latin America, and it was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height. It stands at 2,430 meters above sea-level, and covers 32,500 hectares. Its location is not random – it sits securely atop a mountain, in the middle of a lush tropical mountain forest, in an extraordinarily beautiful setting.
Machu Picchu was built around 1450, and abandoned when the Inca Empire was conquered by the Spaniards in 1572. It was not until 1911 that the archaeological complex was discovered by an American named Hiram Bingham. There are approximately 200 structures in Machu Picchu, and everything was rigorously planned and organized. There are religious, ceremonial, astronomical, residential and agricultural areas, and they are set on a steep ridge, crisscrossed by stone terraces.
To this day, many of Machu Picchu’s mysteries remain unresolved; including the exact role it may have played in the Incas’ lives. The most popular theory is that Machu Picchu was a royal retreat, a place where Incan emperors could relax, hunt, and entertain guests.
THE HOUSE OF DAKAY
It is said to be the oldest stone house existing in Batanes and is considered a UNESCO Heritage Building.
According to Ignacio and Alejandro (2005) A typical representation of an Ivatan heritage house is one made of stone, lime, and wood with a thatch roof made of cogon, structures resembling houses found in European hinterlands. They clearly demonstrate the effects of the harsh climatic conditions on the islands and the efforst of the Ivatans to adapt to the rigorous tropical environment. It tells a story of how the indigenous communities built compact and sturdy houses for protection against ravaging typhoons and the cold Siberian winds.
As Jude Defensor succinctly says in his blog (judefensor.wordpress.com/2012/04/26/at-the-end-of-the-arc...), the way most visitors to Batanes describe it, these far-flung islands seem to be a place that isn’t quite believable. It has gained a reputation as a land seemingly not of this world, part of some mythical realm, a peaceful pastoral haven in the middle of nowhere. If this were Middle Earth, in consideration of its peaceable folk, verdant landscape, and quaint, rounded, partially submerged architecture, Batanes would probably be the Shire. The smallest province in the entire country in terms of both population and land area, it is also known as the “Home Of The Winds” due to its legendarily stormy weather.
CLICK + DRAG 3.0:
THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR
The Legendary Cyber/Fetish/GenderHacking Party Rebooted
The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style, returned as a new large-scale annual on November 15, 2008 at SANTOS PARTY HOUSE, NYC. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and impresario CHI CHI VALENTI shaped this latest incarnation, CLICK + DRAG 3.0: THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR.
Enthusiastically attended by 500 revelers, CLICK + DRAG 3.0 preserved the night's strict dress code and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds." The evening featured performances and installations by VENUS DE MARS, VANGELINE THEATER, THE PIXIE HARLOTS, FX by BASIL TWIST and ROB ROTH, and DJs including SAMMY JO, JOHANNA CONSTANTINE, JOHNNY DYNELL, XRIS SMACK! (of the long-running SMACK! parties) and the FAERIE DJ POSSE.
CLICK + DRAG began as the Saturday-night weekly at Valenti's experimental MOTHER nightclub in 1996 and ran for four years in over two hundred themed editions. With their rigorously enforced "STRICT CYBER/FETISH DRESS CODE" the producers - Roth, Valenti, costume/fashion designer KITTY BOOTS and sex journalist ABBY EHMANN - ensured that only participants were allowed in. The creative collaboration introduced some pioneering aspects to the Nightworld, including Roth's notorious "Bathroom Cam", and also gave birth to THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC, a nocturnal online community.
When MOTHER closed in 2000, Roth, Boots and Ehmann launched CLICK + DRAG 2.0, a monthly edition at FUN. In its new larger format, CLICK + DRAG was thriving until the events of 9/11 shut down Chinatown for many months. One of the city's most seminal and creative parties is finally back after seven years, and will now be a Fall annual, returning in October 2009.

Code of Conduct for Nomadic Monks Regarding Nature - Principles, Positions, and International Legal Context by Daniel Arrhakis (2026)
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Code of Conduct for Nomadic Monks Regarding Nature
Principles, Positions, and International Legal Context
Fundamental Principles of Rovingian Nomadic Monks
Rovingian nomadic monks develop a relationship of profound respect for nature, guided by rigorous rules of conduct aimed at preserving the life of all living beings.
Prohibition of Recreational Hunting
Hunting for recreational purposes is completely prohibited. It is only permitted in cases where it is essential for the survival of species or for one's own subsistence, rejecting the use of violence against animals without vital necessity.
Sustainable Diet
The diet of these monks is predominantly vegetarian, but not exclusively. The main objective is to reduce environmental impact, opting for seasonal foods and prioritizing organic or subsistence farming products whenever possible.
Unconditional Respect for Life
Any death of a living being, whether insect or animal, is considered sacrilege, except in situations of direct threat to life itself, reinforcing an ethos of non-violence and absolute respect for existence.
Holistic Relationship with Animals
The monks reject the idea of cursed animals or personifications of evil. Animals like crows are seen as companions, promoting an integrative vision in which each being plays a fundamental ecological role and eliminating anthropocentric prejudices.
Protection of Life and Natural Habitats
It is the duty of every monk to protect life in nature and defend the liberation of beings in captivity. The preservation of habitats, especially endangered species, is a priority.
Prohibition of the Use of Animals in Non-Natural Contexts
The Rovingian Council opposes the use of animals in captivity for recreational, laboratory, or commercial purposes, such as circuses, zoos, aquariums, or water parks. The exception occurs only in the creation of ecological reserves intended for the protection and eventual reintroduction of endangered species. The same principle applies to the use of animals in laboratory testing and commerce.
Creation of Sacred Nature Reserves
The Council proposes the creation of sacred environmental areas, endowed with their own status and legal personality, preventing any human exploitation and establishing a commitment to inviolable protection.
Sustainable Exploitation of Trees
The abusive cutting of trees or their exploitation for extensive logging is prohibited, with selective deforestation and ecological recovery practices being promoted.
Responsible Use of Plants in Rituals
Plants, flowers, fruits, and seeds have great ecological value and should not be used indiscriminately in ceremonies. Substitution with materials such as pebbles, fabrics, or ceramics is recommended, demonstrating respect for biological integrity.
Respect for Paths and Native Vegetation
Paths should be maintained as they have been used for generations, avoiding indiscriminate trampling of local vegetation and preventing the introduction of non-native species.
Legal Context: Legal Personality of Nature
The creation of sacred nature reserves with their own legal personality follows a global trend of granting legal rights to non-human entities, allowing for their judicial defense and protection against exploitation.
The concept of legal personality of nature tha the Rovingian Council defends is already implemented in several international jurisdictions:
Pillars of the Proposal
Own legal status: Environmental areas cease to be objects of property and become subjects of rights, and can be represented in court.
Prevention of exploitation: Any human action aimed at economic exploitation or degradation can be challenged in court, protecting the fundamental rights of the reserve.
Sacred Character: This approach protects sites of spiritual and cultural importance, integrating traditional and indigenous views that consider nature an indivisible and living entity.
Relevant International Examples
Spain (Mar Menor): In 2022, the Mar Menor lagoon became the first European ecosystem to receive legal personality, allowing any citizen to defend its rights.
New Zealand (Whanganui River): The river was recognized as a living entity, with the rights, powers, and duties of a legal person.
India and Bolivia: Rights were granted to mountains, rivers, and "Mother Earth" as a strategy to curb rampant exploitation.

Women in Ladakh who take to nunnery are called chomos. Polyandry was previously the main regain for a large number of girls becoming nuns because they could not find husbands. However, the trend is changing and with more girls settling down in marriage, the number of chomos is declining.
The chomos live in separate gompas situated some kilometres away from the lama gompas. They too have a rigorous schedule.
After becoming chomos they have to led a life of austere spinsterhood.
Are required to be inferior than the monks, it seems it was quite difficult for them to be allowed to open the first nunnery, at first the dalai lama didn´t allow them, i´ll they to find from where I get this information, they can be seen in monasteries during festivals, donning orange wool caps and incessantly spinning prayerwheels.
The nuns do not take part in major prayer in dukhangs (assembly halls of monasteries) and are more involved in cooking, spinning and weaving and in the general upkeep of the nunnery. but also providing instruction to the young. They are used to worship, meditate, teach the young and they are also the centre for many of the annual festivals. They contain beautiful paintings and statues of Buddha. They usually have courtyards where festivals and dances take place, invariably involving Buddhists dancing around in masks.

I've photographed this super-sized '5' at the Make Architects Broadgate building before so I was surprised to see recently that they've installed a screen within the number. I imagine this will look quite good at dusk as it casts coloured light on its surroundings.

According to this philosophy, satyagrahis—practitioners of satyagraha—achieve correct insight into the real nature of an evil situation by observing a nonviolence of the mind, by seeking truth in a spirit of peace and love, and by undergoing a rigorous process of self-scrutiny.
In so doing, the satyagrahi encounters truth in the absolute.
Vittore Carpaccio (Venice, c. 1465 - Koper, 1525/1526) - Dispute of Saint Stephen in the Sanhedrin (1514) oil on canvas 147×172 cm. - Brera Picture Gallery
The canvas was part of a narrative cycle depicting Scenes from the Life of Saint Stephen executed for the Venetian seat of the confraternity dedicated to the saint and dispersed in 1806 following the Napoleonic abolitions.
The confraternity, also known as the Scuola di Santo Stefano, was made up of members of the Wool Guild and at the outset held its meetings and services in the sacristy of the church of Santo Stefano. In 1476 the Scuola obtained permission from the friars of the nearby monastery to construct a chapel of their own and, in 1506, to decorate it as they chose.
Between 1510 and 1520, Carpaccio painted canvases as decorations for the rooms, including the one now in Brera. The theme chosen stimulated the painter’s narrative vein, here applied to an exotic setting that allowed him to let his imagination run free and produce fanciful works of architecture – although there are echoes of existing structures, such as Verrocchio’s equestrian monument to Colleoni – and unusual Oriental costumes. On the other hand, a solid realism characterizes the representation of the figures in the foreground, where only three doctors wearing turbans are mixed up with numerous portraits of members of the confraternity.
The handling of the composition and perspective is rigorous, as is evident from the construction of the portico in the foreground and the foreshortening of the volumes set on the steps.
Real size mock up was most likely BAE's Replica, part of the P125 / P145 studies during the late 1990s. Probably a conceptual design focused on low observability features seeking a balance between reduced detectability and cost. No doubt rigorously tested to determine RCS in BAE's Warton anechonic chamber. Believe the intake design and other bits have been rolled into the JSF and Tempest programmes; including drones such as Taranis. Certainly nothing secretive considering its age; believed to be 25 years plus. That said stand to be corrected. Taken by my son almost 10 years ago.

THE LIMITS
To those looking to scrape, copy, or “borrow” my soul, read carefully:
ZERO TOLERANCE: Any use of my works in portfolios, commercial displays, or training data will be met with rigorous legal action.
NO SHARES: Do not share my work to platforms without my permission. Especially to Pinterest.
NO AI TRAINING: My images are strictly prohibited from being used for diffusion models or AI generators.
VISIBILITY IS NOT A LICENCE: Sharing my soul with the public does not grant you ownership. Using my images to feed an AI or build your portfolio is not “sharing” — it is theft.
ANTI-COPYIST STANCE: Technical mastery does not grant you the right to the soul of another’s work. To copy a composition simply because it is “beautiful” is to fail the fundamental test of artistry: having something original to say.

Telepathy
Direct transference of thought from one person (sender or agent) to another (receiver or percipient) without using the usual sensory channels of communication, hence a form of extrasensory perception (ESP).
While the existence of telepathy has not yet been proved, some parapsychological research studies have produced favourable results using such techniques as card guessing with a special deck of five sets of five cards.
The agent may simply think of a random order of the five card symbols while the percipient tries to think of the order on which the agent is concentrating.
In a general ESP test the sender concentrates on the face of one card at a time while the receiver tries to think of the symbol.
Both subjects are, of course, separated by a screen or some greater obstacle or distance. Scores significantly above chance are extremely rare, particularly as testing methods have become more rigorous.
J.B. Rhine
Editor of Encyclopædia Britannica
www.britannica.com/topic/telepathy

April is just around the corner and the bittersweet countdown to my move has begun. By the last week of this month I will have moved 2,500-miles. I'll be a Utah resident for at least the next two years as I pursue my dream of completing my master's degree and ultimately becoming a certified physician assistant.
I've been having a hard time sleeping lately due in equal parts to excitement, anxiety, happiness, and a fear of the unknown of the foreseeable future. Thankfully, 2018 has taught me that I can be incredibly resourceful and successful when I am pushed out of my comfort zone...and moving far away from everything I've become close and comfortable with is certainly quite the "push". I am sad that I have to be far from my all my friends and family. However, I take solace in everyone's incredible support and love as I go chase the american dream.
Speaking of "American Dream" (the working title to my someday-to-be national park photography book), my photography posts will absolutely continue! Although my grad school program is rigorous, I am thankful to soon be so close to some of the best national parks the US has to offer. Vermont photo lovers also rejoice, as I have a collection of Vermont summer and fall images that I still have yet to post online for your viewing pleasure.
I'll end this update post with an image from Zion, which was my first sight of the beauty of Utah. Love at first sight. <3

Rover School is in session...
Graduation day has arrived. After all of their rigorous lessons, projects and exams, it is time to send another group of budding Rover enthusiasts out into the galaxy.
The graduation ceremony was quite an event. Not only were the rumors true about a performance by Pop legend Saelor Twyft, but she was even joined in a surprise duet by Benny Stardust. Honest John was there to see his son Honest Johnny Jr. graduate. The ceremony was presided over by Headmaster C. Geiger. I can't wait to see what these promising young graduates do in the future.
Still no sign of Pinky, though.

Bernardo Bellotto called Canaletto after his uncle Antonio (Venice, January 30, 1721 - Warsaw, October 17, 1780) - Nymphenburg Palace, Munich (1781) - Oil on canvas 64 x 120 - Residence, Munich
Bernardo Bellotto differs from his uncle, Canaletto in his rigorous perspectives and the realism and precision of the details of the architectures described. His cities are bathed in light and the figures are outlined by decisive contours.
In Warsaw he produced twenty-six views of the city and Wilanow Castle, which proved invaluable in the reconstruction of the city after the bombings of World War II.
The "Holy Lady of the Fray" or, War Priestess, is a unit under the Medical division. Skilled in healing, both through traditional and supernatural means, these Holy Ladies of the Fray speak peacefully, walk softly, and carry double-headed war mallets.
Armed and armored, while the War Priestess will not attack in order to defend herself, she will exercise much violence in order to defend those around her.
At the Holy Lady Citadels these militant maidens of mercy undergo rigorous training in both the arts of healing and injuring.
In battle, the cry of the injured, "Holy Lady! Holy Lady!" is a beacon that draws these fearless females. They give neither aid nor comfort to enemy combatants, so the War Priestess is an entirely all-or-nothing presence on the battlefield. She is either 100% an ally of the greatest sort, or 100% an enemy who will work tirelessly within her parameters to ensure your fall.

Calculating Upon the Unforeseen curated by Clara Halpern
Embassy, 2017
Embassy is an imagined, temporary, foreign mission. The official residence or offices of a nation’s ambassador symbolize a country outside of its borders. Though these residences, built of bricks and mortar, adorned with national flags and symbols of identity, appear to be fixed, they are guests, their presence dependent on diplomatic relationships between nations, which can range from steadfast and consistent to complex, shifting, at times, even volatile.
This installation is designed to adapt to the site where it is located; which can be seen as opportunistic, parasitic and political. Though large in scale, it is constructed from familiar materials - metal scaffolding wrapped in printed vinyl, materials most often used to cover the facade of a building undergoing construction. It suggests a space half-realized, as if on its way to becoming something larger, something more permanent. Given the current trend of hardening nationalism around the world, it seems fitting to reflect on notions of national identity. Forever in progress, Embassy requires visitors to complete the structure in their minds.
Cedric Bomford has been exhibiting internationally for the past 15 years. His practice grows out of an interest in power relations within constructed spaces and takes the form of large-scale ad hoc installations. His recent body of work is informed by a rigorous photographic practice.
Verena Kaminiarz's practice deals with the problematic intersections between science and art, with a focus on ethics in relation to living creatures. Recently her works have been included in exhibitions in Prague, Budapest and Victoria, BC.
