I loved the perfectly hemispherical shape of this tree. It's a shame I had to include the tree on the righthand side but repositioning would have meant loosing the light..... some times you just have to go with what nature gives you!

Located in Bernese Oberland at a height of 1.850m, halfway the Grimselpass. Its a wonderful lake to walk around or just sit at the shore and enjoy the stunning landscape. Far away in the middle, on the righthand side of the waterfall, almost 600m higher, the Gelmercabin is visible. A little bit of zoom in might help😊

First of all, I want to thank you all for the kind comments and favs I receive(d) on my photos, really appreciate it a lot ;-)

The reason for this darkish Thursdayface is, that I will be operated on my righthand today and will not be able to use it for a little while, only one hand left ... and indeed that is my lefthand ;-) So I have to slow down......and only can upload older photos....but it will be alright soon ;-))

Still too much under stress........this 'face"bud is holding on too much in being a bud...... it just needs to let go and open up........ and find relaxation in being a beautiful strawberry.

For the Macro Monday theme "Relaxation".

Happy Macro Monday everyone!!

I upload an older photo, because I had an operation of my righthand, and still only can use my lefthand.

Happy Macro Monday everyone!!

I upload an older photo, because I had an operation of my righthand,Thursday last week, and I only can use my lefthand.

The sun rays create a straight-line shadow in the mist on the righthand side of the image near Bridalveil Falls. One last stop at Tunnel View was necessary as we departed from Yosemite Valley on this morning.

El Capitan can be seen on the left of the photograph and Half-Dome is in the haze in the central portion. [FA]

We have many 'favorite' waterfalls in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, but Bond Falls is my favorite. It has a U-shaped boardwalk that provides many angles of view around the lower area and stone steps climbing up its righthand side to the cascades above.

The waterfall is about 100 feet wide with a 50 foot fall.

Bond Falls is a waterfall on the middle branch of the Ontonagon River, a few miles east of Paulding in Haight Township in southern Ontonagon County, Michigan. The site is near U.S. 45 in the western portion of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

View on the Wetterhorn mountain, Grosse Scheidegg pass on the righthand side and Urbachvalley on the left. Deep down the village of Innertkirchen is visible. In the middle, far away, the highest peak of the Bernese Oberland, the Finsteraarhorn, shows a little bit of its beauty.

Portmeirion is a village on the Dwyryd estuary in Gwynedd, North Wales. It was constructed between 1925 and 1975 by the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. Although Portmeirion has featured in several films and documentaries, it is most widely known as "The Village" in the cult 1967 television series "The Prisoner".

This photo, looking back towards the village, shows, to the left, "White Horses" with the lighthouse-like "Observatory Tower" behind it; the Dwyryd estuary is on the righthand side of the photo.

Happy Fence Friday my Flickr Friends 😊😊😍

I know that this picture is a little hazy on the bottom righthand corner, because of looking through the boat's window, but I really like the lines in this photo so decided to post it anyway.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

wawa dam, rizal, philippines

this is a water reservoir. the quiet and calm waters you see here is at the point where it is about to drop some 30 feet below. the waterfalls is the cover photo in my wawa dam set, just at the righthand side of my photostream page. the bamboo raft in the leftside foreground is what is used to get to the town across.

A view from above the south shore village of Ratagan looking straight across the eastern end of Loch Duich to Strath Croe on the northern side. The mountain to the left above Inverinate village is the 841m high “Sgurr an Airgid” and the righthand mountain above Invershiel village is the 576m high “Sgurr an Searraich” not far from the Five Sister’s of Kintail’. The road running round Loch Duich is the A87 from Invergarry in the east all the way to the “Isle of Skye” in the west passing the famous “Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie en route.

A fast train coming from the city of Hamburg and about to cross the River Elbe. During the last war, the bridges across the river were of course a bombing target. Later, when the then GDR's chemical industries polluted the water, you would not touch anything coming out of the river. Thankfully, things have improved. In fact, the improvement is so good that the whole righthand river bank between the city and the bridges across the Elbe have become one huge site of intelligent development mixing residential, commercial, educational and recreational areas. I was a bit late getting down Lone Pine and this arch is always the quickest to get too> So I decided to stop by the famous Mobius Arch.

You can see Lone Pine Peak sticking out on the lower righthand side of the photo. The Rokinon 8mm Fisheye really has a wide angle of view.

Walking across St Anthony's Lock early this morning to buy my groceries I watched the Sun trying to break through the cloud cover. The atmosphere was one that well-known Amsterdam artists - e.g. the so-called Amsterdam Impressionists - often put on canvas and photographic plates. Two of them in fact in succession had a studio here on the uneven side (righthand almost at the end behind those trees) of the Oudeschans at nr. 5: George Hendrik Breitner (1857-1923) and Willem Arnoldus Witsen (1860-1923). Their studio faced north for the best artistic light.

'Oudeschans', Old Ramparts, is a rather odd name for this canal unless you regard that word as a kind of synecdoche. When it was first dug (1515-1518), de Oudeschans was called de 'Nieuwe Gracht', New Canal.

One of Snape's Point opposite Salcombe, this is where we were stood getting our shots of Salcombe at sunset and with the drone up in the air I saw this shot and decided I rather liked it.

On the righthand side you've got the Kingsbridge Estuary and on the left is Batson Creek.

Last one from Snowdonia, this is another shot from my wander up to Llyn Idwal.

I took a few shots around this little bridge as you've seen already, and I spotted this view with the tree on the righthand side so set up my camera and got a shot. I had to wait a while hikers were crossing the bridge but soon got a shot free of people.

In the background, you can just spot Y Garn poking up behind the stream.

This is definitely an area I want to explore more of on my next visit and hopefully take a walk further up the mountains.

As much as I appreciated comments and feedback I would request no Awards or flashy gif comments, please. They will be deleted and you will be blocked. Thank you.

This photograph began life as an intended stitched together panorama. The light on the grasses and hills was extraordinary, thick and golden, an inky-blue sky above. I was driving across country to return to work for the week. Rushing, I snatched at the second shot in the group, blurring it, but left no overlap between the first and third images and didn't check on the screen.

This is a righthand square crop from the first image, the best I could salvage from a job badly done, made monochrome.

Taken from the roadside, the perceived distance is magnified by the wide angle and emphasis on the foreground, enhancing the hut's sense of isolation.

Ceredigion, March 2019. Pentax K-S1, 18-55mm kit lens, raw crop, contrast, monochrome and a fraction of vignette in Photoshop.

This image, in the style of Bill Brandt, was recovered from a poor quality negative of a photograph taken in the mid to late 1970s. It shows Dunston Staiths in Gateshead (UK), built in 1893, and said to be the largest timber structure in Europe.

The chimneys on the far left are Dunston Power Station; at the far righthand side you can see what was left of Redheugh Gas Works, which is featured in the album flic.kr/s/aHBqjA9zTC.

Haven't had a waterfall for a while, so here's one from late last year. This is the Sgwd Isaf Clun Gwyn in Waterfall Country in the Bannau Brycheiniog in Wales. This view takes a bit of scrambling so is not that accessible, but it is the only way to see these falls 'front-on' rather than the more usual which is from the righthand side of this image.

The waterwheel is on the righthand side near the road and the mill is still in working order but now mainly a tourist attraction.

Opposite is Mapledurham House famous for its role in the English civil war.

Busy weekend...took advantage of two challenges this week, that made me think of Atticus. He is always with me, morning and night, and follows me everywhere. I guess you could say, I enjoy his company and NEVER get tired of him (like some people I know!) I live in downtown San Diego, and while I always feel safe here, there have been two occasions when he has stepped up to the plate and made it known, to stay away from me........my "right hand" in protecting me.

Rework of several images making up a wide view from Budir Hotel, Iceland. Think the hotel has been voted one of the best in the countryside in Iceland.

The sea estuary comes in from the righthand side - this shot is at low tide.

This is the oldest bridge in the city, and at one time provided the main route out of Derby, to the North & the East. It also boasts on e of the last remaining Bridge Chapels in the UK (presently shrouded in scaffoling and tarpaulins for repairs, visible at the top righthand side).

Oh. My. Gosh. I think this was my new mantra as I kept repeating those three words over and over again as we drove into Rondane national park. After eating lunch at our cabin we hopped into the car, and made our way to the entrance into the national park. 50nkr was spent to open the barrier and we rolled in. The gravel road took us upwards past a number of summer cabins. We were already at 1100 meters above sea level and seeing these mountain peaks for the first time as we crested a small hill was truly breath-taking. Even after consuming hours of YouTube videos and looking at hundreds of other peoples’ photos, I wasn’t prepared for just how spectacular this view was going to be. “Oh my gosh” I repeated to Dom as he filmed away on his phone. We had driven two kilometers from our cabin and still had a kilometer to the carpark but I asked Dom if we should just stop there and then to take photos. We carried on in awe arriving a few minutes later at a rather large but fairly empty car park on the plains. I’m guessing in the summer it must get crowded there as there were “No parking” signs the last one hundred meters along the gravel road.

We jumped out the car, put our wellies on and loaded up our camera bags and walked about 30 meters to the end of the carpark and set up our tripods. For views from a carpark, this was something else. The base of the righthand mountain, Storronden (2138m), is roughly six kilometers away along the gravel road. It’s barricaded to stop tourists driving further but in the summer months the Norwegian tourist board runs a hostel at the base of the mountain beside a lake called Rondvatnet. They also provide bicycles that anyone can loan so as to make the journey there a little quicker. Of course you might be unlucky and have no bike available but it’s a nice touch of them. As we stood here a number of workers were packing up the bikes for the end of the season, so if we had wanted to, it wasn't possible to use them. Which was a shame as there is a waterfall on the left-hand side of the lake that I had earmarked as a potential location to set up our cameras. Next time though….

We were happily snapping away this section of the mountain range - Rondslottet (2178m, the tallest mountain in Rondane) is on the left covered in clouds with Vinjerond (2044m) in the middle just to the right of Rondslottet. The clouds were rushing by providing nice light and shadows across the mountains, or covering all peaks for a few minutes only to reveal them again after a short while. We hadn’t moved a stone’s throw from the car and we were committing countless images to our memory cards and our own physical internal memories when I turned around and saw something quite special in the direction we had come from. But that’s for the next story….

Not actually from the London Flickr Photowalk around Shadwell and Wapping back in February but taken about twenty minutes afterwards as I continued walking along the river as darkness fell.

I managed to take a few dark and moody shots of London including this view towards the Shard skyscraper, with what I think is a rather fancy hotel filling the righthand side of the frame. I really liked the contrast between the warm lighting and the cold tones of the blue hour.

Click here to see more photos of the Shard : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/albums/72157634907018014

From Wikipedia "The Shard, also referred to as the Shard of Glass, Shard London Bridge and formerly London Bridge Tower, is a 95-story skyscraper, designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, in Southwark, London, that forms part of the Shard Quarter development. Standing 309.7 metres (1,016 ft) high, the Shard is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, the tallest building in the European Union, the fifth-tallest building in Europe and the 96th-tallest building in the world. It is also the second-tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom, after the concrete tower of the Emley Moor transmitting station. It replaced Southwark Towers, a 24-story office block built on the site in 1975.

The Shard's construction began in March 2009; it was topped out on 30 March 2012 and inaugurated on 5 July 2012. Practical completion was achieved in November 2012. The tower's privately operated observation deck, The View from The Shard, was opened to the public on 1 February 2013.The glass-clad pyramidal tower has 72 habitable floors, with a viewing gallery and open-air observation deck on the 72nd floor, at a height of 244 metres (801 ft). The Shard was developed by Sellar Property Group on behalf of LBQ Ltd and is jointly owned by Sellar Property (5%) and the State of Qatar (95%) The Shard is managed by Real Estate Management (UK) Limited on behalf of the owners."

P.S. Having checked, the hotel in the foreground is the rather plush Dubai-owned Cheval Three Quays, a 5 star hotel with one bed apartments starting at about £500 per night : www.chevalcollection.com/cheval-three-quays/

Maidenhead Bay, Scotland. Panoramic view with Turnberry lighthouse in the distant righthand background.

A panorama of the seafront in Douglas. There are some hotels here but most of the buildings have been converted into flats or apartments. When I took this the tide was in so you can't see much beach, but if you look closely in the middle section its just visible. On the righthand headland is part of Onchan which was a village but now is virtually merged with Douglas.

The "Dockland" - an office building in Hamburg harbour looklike a ship. The building is 6 floors high and build 2006. An about 500-square-metre roof terrace offers a good view over the elbe within the port of Hamburg. The terrace is normally accessible to the public via stairs on the left and righthand.

The pic is taken on an cloudy late evening. On the back you'll see a shipyard.

OK, bad photo.. but look carefully, the righthand side of the sun seems to have writing in the sky.. MOO.. worked it out, it's a partial reflection off my lens where it says zoom.

Shot of the day, on the first afternoon arrival in Frankfurt for a week's break, first time abroad since Covid.

Taken from a lovely view point on a footbridge over the River Main.

It was pretty windy which was a blessing in the streaking effect of the clouds and river traffic, this was a 2 minute exposure.

This was using a new App recommended by Glyn Dewis, the App is called ReeXpose by Reeflex who also do a set of lenses for iPhones.

The image was then edited in Snapseed, which added some grittiness and grain, but an artefact in the top righthand corner so reprocessed the image once I was home using Lightroom CC , the new AI de-noise and NIK Collection Silver EFEX Pro 2. Cleaner result.

Capture time: 00:02:00

Here's a fine example of “guardrailfanning” as the Rio Grande Zephyr train No. 18 dashes through fresh snow between Rio and Thistle the morning of April 3, 1983. It is as this point to the west that the D&RGW built the Thistle Line Change through Billy's Mountain that would begin in a few weeks when the mainline closed due to a 300 ft. landslide. The realignment hangs a righthand curve along the roadway (which also would be replaced), taking a grade free route to a 3009 ft. tunnel through the mountain, and down the hill meeting the original alignment at Castilla.

Righthand background you can see Venice skyline on horizon. Shot made on the lovely and colorful island of Burano.
