In anticipation of the new "Patriot Star" passenger service on the Mass Central Railroad, recently repainted GP-9 1749 was making break in trips on the former B&M-B&A trackage on the Ware River route. Purring like a kitten, the 1749 has 2 loads of paper for Kansaki Paper in Ware passing Shunpike Rd in Hardwick, MA on October 20, 2022.

right before sunset we found a pride of 18 lions at the edge of the western sector of the Serengeti.
This is the largest of the 2 big males that rule this pride and there were also quite a number of young cubs in this pride.
This is a different pride than the previous lion posts of the western corridor. As mentioned with these posts we saw that other pride with 18 lions 4 or 5 times but there was never an adult male present.

You can really see the sexual dimorphism in these two,The female is on the right,and as Bald eagles go,she is a big unit anyway, The effect is amplified a little bit here because she is on a branch higher then him...
