Sitting in front of Teepee mountain after a rain shower can sometimes be extremely rewarding. This rainbow was a gift to my eyes. And, yes, the panorama feature in the iPhone was just perfect!
Spending time at the beach is so rewarding not only photographically speaking but spiritual in some ways as well. I noticed this coin operated telescope on Newport Pier, It costs a quarter and is the same telescope my dad held me up to look through when I was a little kid. It was nice to recall a memory buried behind all the other photoshop stuff giving my brain a wedgie. :)
Made by The Sea Coast Corporation, it was purchased by the city of newport beach to encourage activity on the pier.
Thank you for taking the time to visit and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! :)
If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.
The sweetest face!! But so very shy. He was nibbling on grass but hyper vigilant. This incredible species is under threat in the UK due mainly to habitat loss.
And Mink. Apparently Mink like to munch on water vole!
I waited an obscene amount of time to see a glimpse of this incredible vole. This is the first time in many years that I was able to spot him. The secret is to stand still and not chat with anyone!!!
A little factlet for you all. 'Ratty' in the 'Wind in the willows' novel was a water vole.
I find hippos one of the most rewarding subjects to photograph in the wild. Especially when you are on a boat, they give you lot of photo opportunities.
This one was taken on the Zambezi in Zambia way back in 2017.

REWARDING THIS GULL, for its faithfulness, as I think its third year of returning alone to the Hamton area. Have had this image as a sort of reserve since December, and am not overjoyed at showing it, as it has only blue sky as a background, but have little else to post!

A attractive gull, about 38cm in length, similar to the black headed gull, but the Med. Gull sits lower in the water, has a stouter bill, and no black plumage, baring its head.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your visit, please leave a comment, enjoy everyone of them, and will return the visit as soon as possible.
Sun is shinning in Kent, so who knows may find something to photograph and show you, Stay safe and enjoy.

Photographing glass is challenging. Infuriating. Rewarding? I’ve shot this wine glass many times and each time I get a completely different result. Should you backlight or side light or in this case a bit of both? I used a green plastic bag over my LED light to create the colour, the other hues are refractions and reflections from random objects on the table.
I tried a whole array of subjects this week, up to the wire on time again!

Its so rewarding to see birds eating the seeds they sowed,
Most of our Sunflowers are from the bird feeders from last winter.
Happy Friday!
West McMillan Spire was perhaps the most rewarding of all my mountain summits. This photo was taken the morning after the day we had summited.
Cerro Toco is a stratovolcano located in the eastern part of the Atacama desert in Chile's II Region (Antofagasta), approximately 6 km (4 mi) south of the border between Bolivia and Chile and 12 km (7 mi) SE of the Juriques and Licancabur volcanoes. It conforms the north eastern extreme of the Purico Complex, a pyroclastic shield made up by several stratovolcanoes, lava domes and a maar.
Cerro Toco is located in the Chajnantor Scientific Reserve, as is most of the Purico Complex. The Atacama Cosmology Telescope and the Huan Tran Telescope are located on the western side of the mountain at approximately 5,200 m (17,100 ft).
Although it is 320 meters less high and far less spectacular of a sight than it´s famous neighbour Licancabur, Cerro Toco still provides rewarding hiking opportunities. Novices can get a gentle introduction to high altitude climbing, while the views from the summit to the surrounding volcanos such as Licancabur and Lascar and beyond the Bolivian border to Laguna Blanca are breathtaking. For more experienced climbers this is still a good summit to get acclimatised for trips to one of the nearby higher mountains.
Cerro Toco has two routes:
The Southern Route has an elevation gain of about 600 meters and takes 2 to 3 hours up, 45 min down.
The Northern Route is longer with an elevation gain of about 1000 meters, taking 4 hours up.

On top of the mountains, you will see the Apachetas, piles of stones, which are offerings to Pachamama, Mother Nature. Each stone represents a problem that, when taken up the mountain, lies behind. In a pile, there are many problems of different people. Interesting is the analogy of pilasters that serve as a bridge between the sacred and the profane, between two worlds, such as church towers, totems, minarets (travel associative in travel ...).

This photo was taken from the same spot as the previous one, so you can see that the hike in itself is extremely rewarding, with magnificent views all along - here towards the German Oberstdorf.
There is a nice bench we were sitting on and I can tell you that after the 'tricky descent' many people looked in our direction - hoping we would leave!
One of the easiest and most rewarding hikes in recent times, trail nr. 549 took us from the Christomannos eagle bronze monument to the Roda di Vael refuge and then eventually towards the Tscheiner Spitze, visible on the upper left. The light was incredible and the clouds added that dynamic element that i'm always looking for. Amazing Dolomites, even the food at the hut behind us was excellent... ;-)
...but it was a rewarding day and not only photographically...

After 1.5 hours of climbing I reach this very rewarding spot, looking down into a steep sided Glen with the stunning and dramatic Loch Kander below. Tolmount, our final destination, can be seen in the distance.
Tom Buidhe (pronounced Towm Boo-ee-ya) and translates as 'The Yellow Hill', is my 20th Munro and stands at 957 meters (3139 feet). Tolmount bizarrely translates from Gaelic as 'Uncertain', but it is my 21st Munro, and stands at 958 meters (3143 feet). The day sees me covering 18 miles by bike & hike so what I AM certain of is, it's going to be epic and it's going to hurt.
I usually get only one chance, one day per year in May to photograph the European Bee-eaters. That makes it a special photoshoot. With all the downsides like the incredibly strong wind and the back-lit lighting that happened this year...it was still a rewarding and unforgettable experience.

Hoping 2021 is brighter, shinier, exciting and rewarding
Butterfly gardening is very rewarding, especially throughout the summer months. June is always amazing, July and August are even better for butterflies.
Unlike most butterflies, monarchs visit my yard year round. Apparently the Florida monarchs don't want to take the long journey to Mexico and the weather here is very suitable. If it gets a bit too cold for them in my area, they can always go a little further south to Ft. Myers or Naples. That's actually a good idea for people like me too. I like warmer weather :)
Thanks for checking in, enjoy your day.
Adopting a cat is a rewarding experience. Not only does it bring the enjoyment of caring for a new companion, but it also gives you the joy of knowing you've rescued a cat,

The journey to the top of Menton is a rewarding challenge. These ancient, sun-bathed steps wind their way through the Old Town, offering a path that feels both timeless and, especially in the summer heat, a bit of a workout. Every step is worth it for the views that await. This turquoise railing, a modern touch on a historic route, seems to guide the way, adding a splash of color against the weathered stone and ochre walls.
This photo is a reminder that the best views often come after a bit of a climb. It’s a journey I’m so glad I took, and I’m happy to share it with all of you. Your encouragement and support throughout my photographic journey are my greatest motivation, thank you for walking alongside me.
This is an image of our natural satellite taken on a warm August morning last year.
Some prominent lunar maria (plural of mare, sea, lava filled plains) on the near side are (see annotated image for identifying these and other prominent features): Mare Imbrium (Sea of Showers, second larger lunar sea), Mare Serenitatis (Sea of Serenity), Mare Nubium (Sea of Clouds) and Oceanus Procellarum (Ocean of Storms, largest lunar basin). Prominent craters among others are Copernicus (diameter 93 Km), Plato (100 Km), Archimedes (83 Km), Aristarchus (40 Km, brightest lunar feature), Aristoteles (87 Km) and Tycho (86 Km, center of a large ray system).
Features close to the lunar terminator (day-night division) are seen better due to low angle illumination by the sun - that’s why the Full-Moon phase is the worse time to observes, as there are no shadows cast by lunar features.
Not the best image quality, since this is just one single exposure on a night with mediocre seeing (Moon altitude was also low, about 25o). Much better results are achieved by stacking lots of video frames on nights of good seeing conditions, still I was totally absorbed by simply observing through the eyepiece(s) with a bino-viewer, a very rewarding accessory for visual study of the Moon and the planets. I can also verify for those interested that the Sky-Watcher Mak 150 is a great scope for planetary observing and photography.
Thanks to everyone for looking. Clear skies to all!

From my very interesting and rewarding trip to Sorrento, Italy in 2016. One from the archives, and another one of my favorites.
From the Shop's Website:
Fattoria Terranova Farmhouse from Sorrento proposes a large selection of typical products from Sorrento, made 100% in our own processing laboratories. Sorrento famous lemons turn into the Limoncello but not only that…we produce also marmalades, olive oil, various other liquors, Baba and so on…all of them as authentic as tradition requires.

Hiking at Kerlingarfjöll is a rewarding experience. We got lost for the first time hiking, away from the planned trial, reached to glacier direction, the strong wind and cold weather almost killed us although I wore snow pants and thin down jacket. Here are some tips for hikers at Kerlingarfjöll:
-Research and Plan: research the trails, weather conditions, and any potential hazards in the area.
-Check Weather Conditions: Icelandic weather can be unpredictable. Be prepared for sudden changes in weather and pack appropriate clothing and gear.
-Carry Essential Gear: a sturdy backpack, hiking boots, extra clothing layers, GPS device, food and water.
-Stay on Marked Trails: Stick to marked trails and avoid venturing off into unmarked areas, as it can be easy to get lost in the wilderness.
-Be Mindful of Wildlife: While wildlife encounters are rare in Kerlingarfjöll. Respect the natural habitat and keep a safe distance from any animals you may encounter.
Hiking in Kerlingarfjöll offers a combination of geothermal wonders, colorful landscapes, remote wilderness, and stunning views, making it a special and memorable experience for outdoor enthusiasts.
Have a wonderful weekend my Flicker friends!
Great spotted Woodpecker.
We have been visited by this Woodpecker everyday since last Autumn. A real regular at our bird feeders. Recently we noticed the visits were down to virtually every 2 minutes, a clear sign there were baby Woodpeckers somewhere close by. We carefully watched where he was flying and in stages followed him. In a woodland near our house we managed to snap this shot, a sort of payment for all the nuts and a bargain at that.

I am thankful for all the nature and wildlife around me. There is nothing more rewarding for me than connecting with nature and capturing its beauty. I'm especially excited when I encounter wildlife and am able capture a photo.
There may not be any pink in this photo. However, since this is probably one of the best photos I've ever taken (if not THE best), I was completely "tickled pink" when I captured this image. So... I think it applies for HPPT, don't you? Oh, come on... sure ya do... right? You do, don't you? hehe

Wondering about the title? That's how long I waited for this shot to finish
[3 minutes and 17 seconds].
I was thinking of uploading a macro shot of a jumping spider but decided to post this instead. Taken last Sunday.
Walks in good company are always rewarding, although if you go alone and enjoy what surrounds you, they are just as relaxing.

W9 and I had a rewarding day at South Coast Botanic Garden yesterday. I include camaraderie and friendship in my tags because birding is a really fun activity when done as a team. Go team!
Manuel and Alejandra found us camped out near a Schotia Tree. As a group we walked back to the palms where 3 big owl babies sat.
We heard the announcement that the garden was closed. It closes at 5 and we've never overstayed our welcome. Guess what? They turn on the sprinklers!
