ok so day 2 of macro... handheld reversed asahi pentax 2.8 28mm, neewer video light, and no teleconverter
My first attempt at reverse macro. My subject has ants in his pants and only let me take one picture.
Taken with a 28-105.
Looking out the window at buildings in Chinatown.
Here's another shot i also got in Delamere, as i took the Macro gear out with me in hopes to find some insects out and about which i luckily did !
I spotted this small black fly sitting on some bark from a meter off as it stood out on the brown surface, have no idea of the type of fly but it made for a great photo !!
The reason i love this type of macro is merely because, although it is not as detailed, with this single image you can still see a LOT of detail on its compound eyes and hairs all over its body and it is more natural.

*This photo was taken with the Canon550D and a 50mm FD prime lens reversed onto some extension tubes. Flash was to the side of the body on full power. Single image, no stack*
It's spiderling season! All over the garden, tiny balls of baby spiders are sitting in the middle of tangles threads of silk. They are bright yellow, with a dark back, but tiny - don't be deceived by this shot, they're less than a millimetre across. I love them.

70mm (reversed), f/4, 1/320, ISO 320.
This is my second attempt at reverse macro shooting. Got some pointers from my buddy Eric on how to increase the depth of field which significantly improved the clarity of these photos. Once again I used my trusty LED flash lights ( blue and white) to light these shots.

The title says it all ... out of time at 11.58pm.
It's been a long day and I was coerced into watching the abomination called Eclipse. Seriously people queue up screaming in delirium to see two guys squabbling over a girl like a piece of meat in a supermarket aisle? Ugh.
Quick replies - yes it is against the law here to touch a mobile phone whilst driving. You are allowed a single action to answer a call via bluetooth but not to touch the phone itself. It's a $239 fine + 3 demerit points.
Also a little while back someone asked me what a CPL is. I can't remember if I answered it, sorry. It is a circular polariser filter.
Time for bed ... got another long day tomorrow.
My first attempt at reverse macro. I need to find a new lens with manual aperture. Used an 80mm Canon EX lens positioned and held in reverse directly in front of the body.
while twiddling about taping lenses back to back in the quest for DIY macro shots using a technique i came across called the reverse macro technique, i discovered Darth vader's helmet on my DJ mixer's crossfader. Whilst technically quite poor, there was something that I really liked about this shot, i hope you do too but if not please break it to me.......gently :)
May the farce be with you

While I am currently reading the lord of the rings, this figure of gollum dropped into my hands...
Reverse macro, D70s with an Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 (OM-System).
Desklamp from right, on camera flash for fill pointed to the right back. The blue gleam in the back is my notebook monitor.
Big eyes ...

Captured this fly shot by reversing kitlens. Pre-set the aperture at f/14. Also used macro ring flash: Aputure Amaran Halo AHL-HC100 CRI95+ LED Macro Ring Flash Light. Wanted to try a better shot than this if it did not start raining. The insect body length was between 1.5 to 2 cms.

68/365 -- Double Lens Reverse Macro
Alright, let's play a little game. First to guess the word in it's entirety wins a trip to Bora Bora.
I was surfing the net the other day when I stumbled upon "Double Lens Reverse Macro". It's actually quite simple and a lot of fun.
For this photo, I had a 70-200mm f/2.8 @ 70mm on the camera. I had another lens, 50mm f/1.8 handheld (with the front element directly infront of the bazooka). At 200mm, I can actually get the dot of the letter "i" to cover up the whole viewfinder.
In case you still don't know... This is the lens cap of my 50mm f/1.8 prime. Straight out of the camera, no crop. Vignetting is natural (the aperture of the 50mm was actually at f/1.8) and is actually the barrel of the lens.
Strobist info: 1x SB-800 6 inches directly subject left.
Satyameva Jayate (सत्यमेव जयते) Sanskrit: "Truth Alone Triumphs". The national motto of India. It is inscribed at the base of the National Emblem (this one is on a Rs. 1 coin). An adaptation of Buddhist Lion Capital of Asoka. Origin of the motto is a well-known mantra from the Mundaka Upanishad.
The motto of the Czech Republic and its predecessor Czechoslovakia, "Pravda vítězí" ("Truth Prevails") has a similar meaning.
Jessica Lall was murdered in front of dozens of eyewitnesses by Manu Sharma, the son of an influential politician, in a party for not serving him a drink. Manu Sharma almost got away in the initial trial in the lower court by threatening or paying off witnesses leaving the country in shocked outrage that brought out thousands of people on the streets to protest against Manu's acquittal with candlelight vigils and silent marches. In the immense uproar that followed, hundreds of thousands of people e-mailed and sms-ed their outrage on petitions forwarded by media channels and newspapers to the President and others seeking remedies for the alleged miscarriage of justice. A poll conducted by the newspaper Hindustan Times showed that on a scale of 1 to 10, the public's faith in law enforcement in India was about 2.7. Under unprecedented public and media pressure in the retrial that followed, on 20th of December 2006, Manu Sharma was awarded life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court and other Accused Vikas Yadav and Amardeep Singh Gill were awarded four years of imprisonment raising hopes for thousands others awaiting Justice in India.

This was taken with my Pentax SMC 120mm F/4 lens for the 645. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 4.6 feet. I used the "reverse macro" method where I turned the lens around and snapped the photo. This was my first time doing it and was about 6 inches from the subject. It even captured the condensation on the side of the cold soda can.
Taken with a Pentax 645 on Kodak Portra 160NC color film. Processed by a third party using unknown chemistry. The negatives were scanned with an Epson Perfection 4490 Photo.
This is taken with my Pentax SMC M 28mm f2.8 lens, reverse mounted on my Pentax K200D body.
I deliberately tried to just get the tips in focus, to add a bit of abstractness to the shot.
This was taken with my reversed Nikkor 50mm 1.8 AIS. I've fastly fallen for the paper-thin depth of field caused by the combination of both reversing my lens and having the aperture wide open; it's amazing to have the ability to separate a single object from nearly anything more than a couple millimeters away. (I'm not suggesting that I'm any good at selecting yet, simply that it is a very interesting way to be able to see the world.)
I had originally uploaded this in a diptych, but I was too fond of this image's own personality to marry it off just yet.
