Decrepit bolts on a decrepit freight car in a decrepit train yard, all weathered by many hard White Mountain winters.

Seen along the reknowned Kankamangus highway in New Hampshire, this barn is part of a 19th century homestead that most definitely did not enjoy good cellular coverage!

My grandfather's pocket watch is over a century old now, but in every sense its design is timeless.

Seen at Iron Kettle Farms in upstate New York, a detail of an antique tub. Not much is built this way anymore.

The times they are a-changin'

We're here to turn the page

It's the same old story but it's told a different way

The more things change the more they stay the same

The same sunrise, it's just another day

If you hang in long enough they say you're comin' back

Just take a look, we're living proof and baby that's a fact

You know the more things change the more they stay the same

It's Florida, so there's no snow, the tree is fake, the sun is shining, and the weather is as far from frightful as it can get. But best wishes to everyone on Flickr for a Very Happy Holiday and

a Most Successful 2018!

This pink handsome man suddenly showed up near my town. And also suddenly disappeared in a couple of weeks.

I should also note that this huge ugly van has nothing to do with this beautiful car.

Our first night in Iceland was in a Guesthouse in Hafnarfjörður, near Reyjkavik. The room was veeery tiny! Thank God was just 1 night...this is the view we had from the window...was not the best Icelandic view, but I liked the image somewhat.

#macromondays #watch

I decided to share this image for the upcoming #macromondays theme called #watch

What you see is a modern made pocket watch with a vintage style. The dieameter of the watch is aprox. 4 cm = 1,6"

A classic vintage pocket watch is a classic timepiece, typically worn on a chain and carried in a pocket, that was made several decades ago—often between the late 1800s and mid-1900s. These watches are prized for their craftsmanship, mechanical movements, and antique value.

Here are a few key things to know about vintage pocket watches:

🔹 Types

Open-face: No cover over the dial.

Hunter-case: A spring-hinged metal cover that protects the watch face.

Half-hunter: Has a small glass window or hole in the cover so you can see the time without opening it.

🔹 Key Features

Mechanical movement (manual winding)

Roman or Arabic numerals

Engraved cases or decorative dials

Maker’s mark inside the case or on the movement (e.g., Waltham, Elgin, Hamilton, Omega)

🔹 Popular Brands

American: Waltham, Elgin, Hamilton, Illinois

Swiss: Omega, Longines, Patek Philippe

🔹 Collectible Value Depends On:

Age and condition

Brand and rarity

Case material (gold, silver, nickel, etc.)

Movement type and quality

Originality (unaltered parts, original dial, etc.)
