Simplex Manufacturing Corporation was an American manufacturer that made motorcycles from 1935 to 1975. Between 1935 and 1960, Simplex made variations of the Simplex Servi-Cycle including the 1953–1960 Simplex Automatic. Simplex was the only motorcycle manufacturer located in the Deep South for many years, until Confederate Motorcycles began production.

The BSA A7 was a 500cc parallel twin motorcycle produced by Birmingham Small Arms Company between 1946 and 1962. Developed as BSA’s answer to the Triumph Speed Twin, it featured a solid, reliable engine and classic British styling. Popular with both commuters and enthusiasts, the A7 earned a reputation for dependable performance and smooth running — a true example of post-war British motorcycling.

Simplex Manufacturing Corporation was an American manufacturer that made motorcycles from 1935 to 1975 including variations of the Simplex Servi-Cycle and was the only motorcycle manufacturer located in the American South. Over the years the Servi-Cycle relied on the same basic engine configuration-a single cylinder air-cooled 2-stroke developing 2 hp, which can power the little bike to 40 mph. In WW2, a special model was made for the US Army Airborne Forces, with quick release handlebars, as on the British Flying Flea and the James, so they could be quickly set sideways, to make it smaller. It also included modified foot boards, normally supported by the crashbars that were deleted on the Model GA-1, so the foot boards on this model folded up, again to make the width smaller. It is enough of a piece of Americana that a 1935 Simplex Servi-Cycle motorcycle is currently on display in the Smithsonian Institution's America on the Move exhibit.

A stunning BSA Gold Star seen at Shuttleworth, representing one of the most celebrated British motorcycles of the 1950s. With its 500cc single-cylinder engine and timeless styling, the Gold Star remains a favourite among classic bike fans for both its looks and its performance heritage.

The 2012 Tennessee State H.O.G. Rally is hosted by Boswell's Harley-Davidson in Cookeville, TN this year and has been in town the later part of this week and over the weekend. I went out to Boswell's to take a look at some of the bikes that were in town. This one really caught my eye...and according to the owner, it's a 1947 Harley-Davidson and is in perfect condition and runs like new. It's a beautiful motorcycle!! By the way, H.O.G. stands for Harley-Davidson Owners Group...
