Mechanix Illustrated, June 1957; their take on what kind of houses we'd have in 1989!

Because we haven't done enough damage, limiting ourselves only to Earth, thus far. ;)

Modeling Madness C7 | Week 1 | Retro Future - Veronica Lopez

A peek into one possible future where we live as one with the sunlight. Plentiful energy harvested from our home star fuels this hydronautic craft capable of skimming the ocean waves effortlessly under the sunny skies... Enjoy =]

If everyone accepts what you are doing, then you are a follower. If you are on a worthy and interesting new path through life, expect resistance!

LN-18, teenager of the year 1980 riding her Wonderbird. From the 1930 film Just Imagine.

Soren's Martian just begged for a smelly pseudoyak. Overtiredness and the total annihilation of my sand-red collection later and we have this.

The Evoluon is a unique and futuristic building in Eindhoven, Netherlands, that was built in 1966 by the electronics company Philips as a science museum. It resembles a landed flying saucer and was designed by architects Leo de Bever and Louis Christiaan Kalff. The Evoluon reopened to the public in September 2022 with the RetroFuture exhibition, which explores how we looked at the future in the past and what our expectations are now. The Evoluon also hosts the Spacefarming exhibition, which shows how we can grow food in space and on other planets. The Evoluon is a place where people, nature and technology come together and challenge each other.

The car I built for Keith's "Zero Hour on Highway 44" diorama. It's my first attempt at building a car as an adult.

That's how it looks kids, when mommy and daddy put on their spacy jump suits and take a ride in the year 2000.

Atomic blaster engine, steering bar, full suspension and everything. Giant tail fins for sure!

Part of an experimental series of night images recorded with a Nikon D2H and pair of old Russian lenses (Mir 1v 37mm and Jupiter 9 85mm).

This story did get some things right about the future, though the timing (1975) was a bit off. Electric cars? Check. With autopilot? Still waiting. 3-D TV? Check. Cabnips and potorads? Uh, well we do have genetically engineered foods. Cooked electronically? Yep. we just don't put the microwave on the table. A human parts bank? It's coming. The artwork for this story is by Bruce Minney. Tom Ziegler's book about Bruce is a must-have for fans of men's adventure magazines - amzn.to/MuTWGC

These are a few images from the photoshoot I did last friday with Libby Bulloff, who was my photographer of choice and magically was in town right when I needed her to be! Yay!

So these were taken to eventually end up in Weird Tales Magazine for a short interview the wonderful Cherie Priest did on my jewelry art!

I am very happy with these pics so far, can't wait to see the rest!

Made from a vintage electrical box, table legs, bicycle head lamp, pencil sharpener, windshield wiper arms, doorbell chimes, v8 engine rocker arms, hands made from a vacuum cleaner latch, metal gear, and some other odds and ends.

Steampunk bar in Beijing's Xiang'er Hutong. While visited during the opening hours, it was unfortunately closed without stating a reason. So, there are no pictures of the interior. Hope, they didn't go out of business. The early evening light can hardly hide the ever present smog in downtown Beijing.
