On Friday 16 May 2014, we stepped back and forward in time as Museum Lates: Retro-future took us on a steam-powered journey through our collections, from iconic designs of the past to cutting edge technology of the future. Hosted by Radio 1's Vic Galloway, the night included performances from Lord Holyrude and Withered Hand, along with a whole host of other events.

Images from the 1967 World's Fair held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

These are not my photos -- I scanned some old slides that I purchased on EBay.

I find these buildings inspiring: the architects' idealism is plainly visible. These buildings (which no longer exist) were created by optimistic people. Is it still possible now for us to think so well of the future?

these are the last images in the set, showing what you can do with some simple materials, a couple tools, and some time!

If you want to learn how I made these, check out the first image here:

Is this the last time?

A question that ate my mind throughout Adrian's silence

Time passed and he was still silent sitting cold and didn't feel my reckless spiritual storm that was slitting my chest

Moments of silence went very slowly

truely, I almost felt as if my head was a 1,000-year-old rock that was destroyed by water and erosion factors.

I think he was disappointed, Maybe he remembered all the situations that I was wrong in But despite the fear that was violently hitting my heart by his decision I almost drowned in his details as if I had fallen into the Mariana Trench.

for the metal design, I put the original pattern shape over the eye cup and traced a shape I found pleasing onto it.

Commissioned for a woman who wanted a bunch of items to deck out two of her dolls in a steampunk style.

I have the best and biggest piece commissioned for the dolls coming in a day or two!

Just a little space hotrod. Twin amped thrusters with double wound hyperdrives. This baby will make a Venusian Streamer look like a Thraxian Slugwart.

This is my new hat! That's about $40 in brass hardware on it.

All of the metal panels (and there is also metal shielding hidden inside the hat as well) are connected with wiring and contacts, and there is a wire that leads away from the hat to draw electromagnetic field noise to ground. All I need to do is touch the end clip of the wire to a large/grounded metal object and I have a moment of internal calm to ponder life.

The setting used for this picture is my new sleeping chamber, which I have yet to find a way to properly photograph in its entirety because of its size. It's seven feet tall and nearly fully enclosed, with its own lighting, farraday cage, and club speaker sound system.

cut out the holes in the faux leather... then add the rivets and grommets.

The lenses are plastic circles from Tap Plastic, check your local plastic retailers for similar. The rims that hold in the lenses inside the eye cups are actually Solo cups that have been cut down to rings. I took pics of this part of the process, but my camera died and lost them. :( I will try again later.

Transhuman Medical Specialist Emblem

With the widespread use of fully manifested Therians, Otherkin, and clockwork bioware enhanced humans during The Great Colonial War, the need for a special sort of field medical training was necessary.

This pin was worn by an empathic shaman nurse who specialized in locating wounded astral projectors who had been severed and were lost on the shadow battlefield, to help them find their way 'home'.

The architecture near the park is very retro-future - I loved it....

Modeling his "Back off, I'm doing science" t-shrt from Retropolis

All the memories that we made will never change

Time passed and our love didn’t change

I think of you from time to time more than I thought

When I look at you, I realize how much I fortunate

Every time that passes I fear losing you
