I purchased this second hand when I started collecting and had it sent down from Queensland. The Ohio Scientific computers were interesting: I gather that this and the 8P were intended for home automation, hence the huge number of ports at the back. I was told that it was horrible to work on in winter, as the fan pushed cold air up through the keyboard.

An Acorn Archimedes; designed in Cambridge, it was based on a revolutionary processor named the ARM and knocked the Amiga into a cocked hat. (Personal anecdote: they had one of these in the computer lab at my school on the open day before I enrolled; when I started classes next year, I learned that it had been on loan, and all they had was BBC Micros. Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?)

Although the control unit identity plate is stamped for 240 volts, the power supply test points for 5.1v, 12v, -12v, 30v, and -250v were all up to required values on 110 volts AC supply from the variac..!
