This adapter allows me to use a IDE disk or CF card on my Sinclair +3.
I've had to install 2 new EPROMS in the machine for it to support IDE devices.
CF card is 128Mb, but as the interface in only 8 bit, only half of the cards capacity is available. Still, 64Mb is a lot of storage for a spectrum!

This little home computer was released on the 5th of March, 1981. It turns 39 today. This particular specimen isn't the prettiest ZX81 out there, but it's mine. ♥
It could only do black and white on a TV screen and had an awful, awful ‘keyboard’—the term used very loosely. It's not just about half the size of a normal keyboard, it's also a microwave oven-like membrane keyboard with exactly zero feedback.
But that didn't matter, because you only had 1,024 bytes of RAM anyway, and you had less than that free to use. Forget novels, you wouldn't be typing letters on this, either! In fact, this description wouldn't fit in the ZX81's RAM even if it had lower case letters. (it didn't)
This computer had a FAST mode and a SLOW mode. In SLOW mode, the computer was sluggish even by 1981 standards. In FAST mode, it was a lot faster, but the display turned off.
Still, it was cheap, and many of us old bastards got our first contact with a computer on a Sinclair ZX81.

Booting up the various retro machines in my living room prior to the show day. BBC Micro on the TV, Mac SE in the middle, Acorn Electron on the RGB monitor. Note the Sony Elcaset in the background.
The LED daughter board mounts behind the HEX keypad fascia board, locating each LED adjacent to its corresponding key.
One of my hobbies is collecting retro-computers, focusing on computers made by Atari. I have currently have eleven different Atari-models, three from Commodore and one other model in my collection.
This is my Atari STE. I traded it for a live recording of Pink Floyds show on Ullevi in Gothenburg in 1994, probably in 1996 or 1997. At this time I had pretty much stopped using my Ataris.

This is THE Altair that you see on the set of the IT Crowd. It was lent to Channel 4 for the recording of the series. This machine is kept at "The Centre for Computing History". You can read more information about the museum at www.computinghistory.org.uk/

I believe its the same as the Slogger 400. Came with the Pegasus 400 ROM and T2PEG. No idea if it works yet.
It needs a good clean as it came from a smokers house. Im also going to replace the capacitors. I'll upload a new photo once I have refurbished the board.

This system uses the Intel N80186 CPU and has 1Mb of RAM. Sadly, currently has no hard disk, so I have to boot from 720k floppy.
