Hopefully is checking out for possible nesting sites for later this month. Haven't seen them here for about 5 years. It's great to hear their whirring sound as they hover. Our Welcome swallows appear early next month and disappear again for a further month if it's really cold.

Not a first time sighting but today is the first time i have managed to capture an okay picture of one. Watching this Flycatcher go about it's work was my favorite part of the afternoon, particularly how it hovers, cool little bird.

To see these birds feeding down low making their unusual grinding call, very impressive

I have been experimenting with capturing the flight of birds as they seek food in or on the surface of water. The Crested Tern on the left has caught a small fish while the Restless Flycatcher on the right is about to pick up a fly on the surface of the water in a dam.
