Unfortunately it was a windy day so we didn't get the reflection of the Matterhorn in the lake.
Thank you all for commenting and favouring my images it is very much appreciated.
Between Al Merjeh and Souq Sarojja, there is an open space where a big mural/fabric billboard was put up. I guess the message of the billboard is apparently about 'peace'.
As most of the family having their picnic along the highways green areas, parks and gardens, it seems that the guys prefer to relax at these kind of places.

I dunno why the IGA bothered to drop the price on those Powerades. They could have put the price UP and they would still have sold out.

My diary records that I was 'spare' on Monday 2nd July 1990 when I took my camera for a walk from Proof House Junction to Vauxhall & Duddeston.
The base restday relief signalman's roster showed me as 'Late Turn Curzon Street' that day but three weeks earlier I had been given the Saturday night / Sunday morning job of clipping points and providing protection to enact the 'Section C' entry which permanently closed Curzon Street signal box.
I completed these duties at 0130 hours on Sunday 10th June 1990, took the train register and other documents to the inspectors office at New Street and went home to bed.
So three weeks later I had the opportunity to record these images.
Between August 1987 and July 1989 I had averaged one shift a month at Curzon Street, then after a long gap my final half a shift working that box was on Thursday 12th April 1990, 1400-1800hrs after earlys at New Street (south panel).

Tuesday, 15 July - rest day: Besancon
The Tour de France riders are enjoying a rest day after 10 eventful stages that have seen the "grandest ever Grand Depart" in Yorkshire, rain, cobbles, rain, mountains and more rain. Four British riders started the race: defending champion Chris Froome and his Team Sky team-mate Geraint Thomas, Omega Pharma - Quick-Step sprinter Mark Cavendish, who has won 25 Tour stages, and 21-year-old débutante Simon Yates. By the end of stage five, Froome and Cavendish had crashed out leaving Thomas and Yates, who rides for Orica GreenEdge, to fly the British flag.

Weekend, Sunday is a rest day for most of the foreign workers in Singapore. At the north side of singapore, many workers love to gather at the Kranji reservoir area to chit chat , have food and fishing to pass time.
