The king cobra is the largest venomous snake that, when excited, rears up and spreads the skin behind its head to form a hood. Cobras are native to tropical Asia and Africa. The bite from a king cobra can transfer up to 7 ml of venom, a massive amount and enough to kill an elephant. They eat other snakes primarily but also monitor lizards. I was fortunate enough to be interviewed recently about my (bizarre) start in photography, my life before photography, how my book deal happened, and how social media helped build my career.
Part 2 of my interview just just went up! It's a long interview! This part is about who my photography clients are, how I make a living, how I do my snow photography, and my all time favorite photo I have taken in the snow .
Excerpt from Part 2 of the interview (full interview: Full Interview Here )
Favorite photos, Vivienne’s approach to capturing ‘fantastical’ images...
Dave: Are there a couple of favorite photos of yours that you could talk about how they came about, or what were you thinking and what your process was in making them? We’re kind of interested in your process in general. Do you set out on a photo walk with a mission to find something specific? Or is it more that walk and just let the muse dictate, kind of follow your emotion or thinking at the time?
Vivienne: I am absolutely in love with New York City at night in the snow! I started doing a lot of snow images a few years back. I just started going out every single snowstorm and trying to capture how I felt every time I walk around in the snowstorm. [The images] just sort of took off online. A lot of them went super viral. So now I’m super into that project.
I really love it; I think that there’s this sort of really magical quality at night in New York City when it snows, that just can’t be replicated anywhere else.
So with that I’m definitely on a mission. There are certain themes that I try to capture that are iconic for me in my memory. One photo that I did was a direct homage to...

**Story to come later*
Lately, we are now looking at our environment. Not only for our generation but hers and those after her.
Water is a natural resource that we have to protect. Ground water management plans, protecting our water source is just good common sense practice that we all must look at.
After all, we all need water to survive. It's a fact of life.
So, for her generation and her future generations lets start looking after our planet.

"Sandpiper 9 this is Camp 6, come in"
"Sandpiper 9 on station. What's up base?"
"Pack it up, Camp 4 reports Aquashark scouts in their vicinity"
"Negative Camp 6, I just laid into a fresh trench"
"Bruce, fold it up and get back here"
"Chuck, listen man. Is this a real report?"
"What are you sayin?"
"Look, I know he's your kid but-"
"But what."
"I'm just saying.. last week it was a giant squid, the week before that reported Stingrays activity. We got quota to meet and every time we shut down we lose an entire day to reset and refuel"
"Quota doesn't matter when you're dead. Pack it up."
"Missing quota might as well be dead."
"What was that, 9?"
"Nothin. Buckets up, back in 30."
This was built for the WackLUG 2022 BrickCon collab, which was absolutely killer. I've had this conveyor belt in my collection for 15 years, laughing at me because I could never find a good use for it. The collab was the perfect moment to finally get it into something.

Early fall while wandering through a local forest resource managment area photographing birds I got an unexpect encounter. I noticed this Ribbon snake in a sunny area and as I got lower to take a few images it darted right at this big toad I had not seen. A sad thing to watch indeed but this is nature and I took the opportunity to photograph this wild encounter. After capturing a few images and video I left the snake to digest its meal in peace.

Futuristic, unparalleled ski slope and a recreational hill on top of a new resource handling center.
CopenHill. The artificial skiing slope and the recreational hiking area opened in fall 2019, built on top of the new waste management center. This sounds like something out of a sci-fi fantasy but is a reality since the power plant opened in 2017 under the name ARC (Amager Ressource Center).
You are now able to bring out your ski and snowboard and head down the slopes at CopenHill.
Additionally, it has a hiking trail that goes all the way along CopenHill’s roof. At CopenHill, you will also find the world’s highest climbing wall of 85 meters, where certified climbers can test their skills.
ARC is one of the steps towards Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon-neutral capital.
