Pinus canariensis The Canary Island pine is capable of rising from the ashes like a phoenix. Formerly, due to its valuable tea wood, the man exploited the pine forests, but today they are mainly used for recreation.

A macro of resin from a tree...

'Did someone say Daisy? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were talking to me.' It's tough being a sheep with that name. :)

Notes:

The sheep are a little over ½" high.

Texture by Flypaper Waxworks.

Overlay by Yopixart.

The name says it all, it's a round bee that builds its nest from resin. And it bites the bedpost to sleep. Pretty red neck if you ask me. :)

I still have a backlog of photos from the last three years and I'd like to get some of them on here along with some new pics.

This is photo is of a string of wood resin dripping down, it looks to me me like artisan jewelry!

I've been so busy with life/work that I'm having no time for dolls and photos lately. :{

But I'm doing my best to keep up with friends here on Flickr.

Sometimes I rescue old discarded photos like this one of Shael and do something with them. :p LOL

Have a nice week! ♡

A different look at a Heriades sp. from our garden. Utilizing a macro lens has really allowed me to appreciate the compound eyes of bees and other insects. They can be truly stunning with rich colors and intricate patterns. Compound eyes allow bees to interpret their surroundings, detect objects, and sense depths. Bees and wasps also have three eye-like structures on the top of their heads known as ocelli which sense light and movement and are helpful for navigation during flight.

I got lucky and found a snoozing Resin Bee. This is a new solitary bee for me as I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've photographed one. They look very similar to European Wool Carder Bees but the face is white instead of yellow.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F14, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (2x) + a diffused MT-26EX-RT with a Kaiser adjustable flash shoe on the "A" head (the key), E-TTL metering, -1/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI and Clarity in that order. I held the grass stalk close to a wall to keep the background from being black.
