Re-posting this shot since old school2 painted it so wonderfully and I wanted to share it with you all.

Most of my shots of my trip to Mussoorie have been showing only the beauty of the town and the hills around. As with a lot of towns in India, haphazard growth is everywhere, sometimes overtaking the beauty and simpleness of the surroundings.
This is the reality....there are lots of wires crisscrossing, most of them illegal but so prevalent that they become part of the landscape, the old houses are beautiful but falling apart, the new houses are strong but ugly concrete structures and so on.
So, it's really up to us to find the beauty where ever we can. One has to look beyond the obvious, and not get sidetracked by things like the huge dumpster that welcomes you to the town, or the discarded plastic bags in the gutters, in essence ignore the ugliness and notice only the beauty that could be.
#Filoli is a #countryhouse set on 16 acres of formal #gardens surrounded by a 654-acre estate, located in #Woodside, #California, about 25 miles south of San Francisco.
Somehow I managed to delete some of my photos from the group 2016:one photo each day. I'm now trying to work out which ones.

Repost of a photo from last year. Just trying out a photo plugin ( Topaz Adjust 4 ) for Photoshop Elements. My first attempt with anything other than Elements.... I think I might like this! : )
I took this photo - the original version - in October of 2005 and it keeps getting views and just got another "fav" vote this morning. Don't know what it is about this picture that it has such stay power.
This one is cropped a little to make it more interesting and saturation bumped just a tad.
Remember this one? She's such a funny girl! Maybe she's more flexible since she's missing a limb? Love the markings on those hind legs.
I mistakenly thought that this was the first week that i've participated in 'roid week. I forgot that i contributed this photo for 'roid week 2008. This was posted two years ago when my dad was really sick and we didn't know what was wrong, Sadly, he passed away in November of that year.
It is because of him that i first picked up a camera. The polaroid that took this photo was passed to me and then to my son who shot this pic.
It was also primarily because of my dad that i started sharing my photos on flickr. He looked at my stream every day and i always knew that he was watching over me by way of flickr.
I'd like to believe that he's still watching. I miss him terribly. I'd also like to believe that i channel his love of life with every click of the shutter.
Thanks y'all for being such a strong support mechanism. Reading through these comments from 25 months ago makes me miss him but it confirms the positive impact that flickr has had on my life.
