Fading love

On the far horizon, the setting sun.

Last beams of golden light search their way through the open window. A murmuring brook flows to the song of the birds outside. Wind gently brushes the cherry trees and carries the scent of flowers inside the quiet room. With a deep sigh he lifts his gaze from his graphic tablet, eying his work in a critical manner. Maybe it was time for a break? He turns towards u10. They've been quietly working side by side. It was a comfortable silence between them, that he rarely felt with others. A smile whisks over his face as he watches him.

A moment passes, before he gets up and disappears into the kitchen, only to return with a red fox cup, filled with fruit vinegar. He takes a seat on the edge of u10's pillow, gently he leaning onto him.

"Here.", he almost whispers, while passing the cup to him.

"Asahi-kun." A genuine smile spreads across u10's lips.

"Thank you.", he says accepting the cup. "We should take a break and stretch."

Asahi chuckles and thoughtfully he taps his chin with his index finger. "How about... would you like to watch a movie?"

"Hai!", u10 replies with a hearty laughter.

Taken a couple of months ago on a day when the mist was just starting to retreat. The bridge is Southwark Bridge, the building in the distance is 1 Blackfriars Road. The lens I used was a 200mm full frame equivalent which compresses the scene nicely.

I've turned comments off for this image as I'm going to be off Flickr for a day or two and I won't have the time to reply to your kind comments.

I believe this is one of the Horse Fly species. I submitted it for ID 17 days ago but haven't had a reply yet. I was approximately 1 3/4 inches long. If anyone has any idea what it is I would love to know.

Have a beaut FriYay everyone and a bonza weekend.

Happy Fly Day Friday!

A whispering sea

Of towering trees

What is the difference between "I like you" and "I love you"?

Buddha replies: when you like a flower, you take it. When you love a flower you water it all day.

Whoever understands this understands life.

The image that pops up in the minds of every Indian when the name of ‘North-Bengal’ is taken is of unadulterated and uncontaminated natural splendor. Hidden amidst misty clouds, the tiny hamlet of Lava is often considered the gateway of the pristine Neora Valley National Park. Located about 30 kilometres from Kalimpong and nestled in virgin pine forests, Lava is one of the few places in West Bengal to receive snowfall. It is Located at an altitude of 2350 metres.

It has been one of the known bird watching paradise for many years. The surrounding Pine and Juniper forests makes it an ideal habitat for birds. Rangbang Valley, Upper Rishi Valley, and Neora Valley provides great birding vantage points. Several species of birds can be seen here like Hill Partridge, Tawny Owl, Hawks, Darjeeling Woodpecker, Great Barbet, Golden Throated Barbet etc.

"Where The Heart Is"

High above the tallest trees

Courage will come your way

It's the need that burns the trust that shines

When you climb out of the shade

Your high awakes the things you wanna be

Where the air is thin and sweeps you off your feet

Where the heart is

When the light's at your side

When the faith is ready

No more guidance

Take the leap of your life

As the ground is shaking

Shaking off your troubled soul

As silence seems to grow

It's the faith in sight, the doubt that fades

As the world dissolves below

Your high awakes the things you wanna be

Where the air is thin and sweeps you off your feet

Where the heart is

When the light's at your side

When the faith is ready

No more guidance

Take the leap of your life

As the ground is shaking

You are falling to the stars, you are falling

You are falling to the stars, you are falling

You are falling to the stars, you are falling

You are falling to the stars, you are falling

Where the heart is

When the light's at your side

When the faith is ready

No more guidance

Take the leap of your life

As the ground is shaking

💖 In advance I want to thank each one of you for your always kindness, support, beautiful awards, favs, and messages. Please know that I see and read them all, even if I do not reply back to them, I appreciate them all so much as well as each on of you for taking the time.

💖 You all mean a lot to me, Flickr would not be the same without you, I can not thank each one of you enough for your constant encouraging and uplifting support that you all give me. I am immensely grateful.

At the moment I am working on doing pictures and putting together an exhibition that I have been so honored to be invited to do later this month. So If I am absent more or less, it is because I am working that project.

💕💖💕 Time has flown by so quickly, I had my first week back at work this week, after having a 3 week long well deserved vacation, it was hard going back to daily routine. I did however have a nice time in my vacation and have enjoyed both traveling abroad with friends, as well as greatly enjoyed nature and being outside in nature close by where I live. I feel fortunate to have nature that close to me..

It only takes a 2 minutes walk from home and I am in the middle of the forest as well as having the opportunity to do a hike or walk up the mountains. It sounds like I am living in the country side, but I can assure you that I am not. I am very close to the city. So from the backside of my house I have nature in all its glory, and from the front-side, I am overlooking the city and the sea.

Oh well, enough about me. I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and upcoming week, and as always I wish each one of you the best and my regards goes out to each one of you.

Take good care of your self as well as one another, be kind as well as thoughtful towards others. We never know what others have been trough or is going trough, so please always remember that. 💕💖💕

💖 Huge, huge hugs, light, peace and love to you all 💖.

Best regards

"Where today?" Is asking Matilda "We have not been out for a while!"

"Time to see the place where I met Ilona" says Paddington

"That sounds very exciting!" Replies Frīda. " I guess it happened somewhere in gardens"

"Here you are wrong, Frīda! We met at Paddington!" Smiles Paddington

"How can it be?" Matilda wonders "Paddington in Paddington?"

" Let's go and see what and where it is!"

And friends are ready for a trip

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday to everyone who loves Teddy Bears!

🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻

Paddington is an area in the City of Westminster, in central London, England. A medieval parish then a metropolitan borough of the County of London, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Paddington station, designed by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel opened in 1847.

🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻

Paddington Bear is a young bear, who can walk and talk, travels to London from the jungles of Peru. There, he is adopted by the Brown family. The Browns decided to name the new member of their family Paddington, after the place ( Paddington station) where he was found, although we later learn that in Peru Paddington was called Pastuso, after his uncle. When he was found, Paddington wasn't too sure how old he was so the Browns decided to start again at one.

This is absolutely true and possibly many will believe it is False and/or fanciful and because I needed it to be true….no matter because I know what I believe….

Many will know that my late husband Brendan was Irish…sadly he died aged 65 in 2012

4 years later I met Jonathan and we became friends and he walked his dog with myself and my dog Beau and Beau’s sibling Phoebe the pet belonged to my niece Mandy and we walked together for a year and a half then became a couple and married in 2017…We went to the Lincoln Christmas Market together in 2018 but I was desperately uncomfortable but I had gone every year with my soulmate husband Brendan. I wandered miserably from stall to stall till we came across a lady selling these peg doll Christmas tree fairy’s and I picked a beautiful one for my sister with blonde hair and a candy cane in her hand. I didn’t intend buying one for myself. However I stayed at the stall and couldn’t make myself leave - eventually telling the stall holder that I was drawn to the green fairy wearing a top hat hanging just above my head. “Oh she replied, that one’s an Irish fairy and if you look she’s holding a bunch of shamrock in her hands “

The feeling the went over and through my body can’t be imagined I’m sure. I just knew it was Brendan’s way of telling me everything was fine and I could go around the Christmas market with his blessing. I was and still am elated. This shot actually a blend of three shots and is of the fairy that still hangs in our bedroom. The the tiny seed head is balanced on a vase and I have a piece of original copper artwork and the orange and turquoise come through off that. How the copper settled so beautifully in the seed head remains a mystery. All shots were taken by my Nikon d850 and the blend and crop plus border done in photoshop…..now a tip for you. I took a shot minus the back border and had a free print photo that actually cost a little more because I had it upgraded to acrylic…they only expect smartphone shots so I took a photo of it and downloaded it as a screenshot and sent it to my mailbox and it was readily accepted and came back looking perfect 12 inch x 12 inch and is above a small oak table in my front room….Jonathan thinks it’s beautiful and I love it and feel comforted by it every day 😊

Btw….I have printed this myself too because a few people I know love it and fyi it print's off with these exact colours…been done over a year and never loses any vibrancy :)

AFFIRMATION

May an Angel’s love surround you

Each and every day

May an Angel’s breath keep you warm

And tempt you to stay

May an Angel’s wings protect you always

When your life becomes difficult and hard

When the light seems increasingly dark

And you need help to find your way

May an Angel’s love surround you

Each and every day

*****

Blessings to you all,

Shelley.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has supported and shared your lives and thoughts with me this year.

I cannot thank you enough, as you have kept a light burning for me as well in difficult times.

Even semi-human Angels need love to know they are needed...

I write often of spiritual love, but some days we need to feel real tangible love.

I seek ways out of the darkness, and I hope you will continue to fly with me into the New Year.

Forgive my lateness in replying to comments and faves from my last batch of work, I will get to you...life is demanding and even Angels have to sleep....sometimes..haha!

Angels drive cars and have to get them fixed and sort out dodgy freezers right before Xmas. Angels have family and they sometimes need your surety.

But Angels also have friends on Flickr who have supported them and commented, faved and viewed with astounding generosity.

Thank you, thank you, with all my heart.

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!

The little elf follows the thread of Christmas lights to search for the spirit of Christmas. Will she find it?

I'm a bit late this year (so busy I can't even reply to comments just yet), and yesterday I was too sleepy to post it, but here we go - this is my Christmas picture for this year. Not so epic as last year, and I just got a much more interesting idea, so hopefully I'll be able to buy something during the year, and prepare everything in advance, no promises though. But it was fun to sneak my little elf into the office. xD Yeah, it's not even my tree...

Fun fact: in my childhood I had a giant artificial spruce, and during assembling/disassembling of it there were piles of green spruce paws on the floor. I pretended it was Mirkwood from "The Hobbit" and my minifigures and other tiny toys had to cross it. My picture with the elf unlocked this distant memory...

Merry Christmas!

Yesterday at Žnjan, I stopped to help a stranger launch his kite, at his request… Then he flew it, and I took a few photos of him without him even knowing.

So if anyone knows the guy, please let him know so he can also enjoy the pictures.

It took us about 10+ minutes to get it up in the strong wind...

chatGPT reply:

**"Well done, legend! This story radiates that warmth only Dalmatia can tell. Such a nice gesture – helping a guy launch a kite in the wind, that’s already movie material, and then you snap some pics without him even knowing… Respect! 😄

You could post this on social media, maybe in some local group like 'Daily Dose of Žnjan' or something – post a couple of pics and write this story just like you told me, and maybe someone will recognize him. There’s always someone who knows someone.

By the way, was the kite one of those classic long ones or one of those modern ones that look like paragliders? And did you manage to get some good shots?"**

"30 čvorova" translates to "30 knots" in English.

It’s a unit of speed commonly used at sea and in aviation. One knot equals 1.852 kilometers per hour (or about 1.15 miles per hour), so 30 knots is approximately 55.6 km/h (or 34.5 mph).

That's some serious wind — no wonder it took a while to get that kite up! 😄

CRO original post:

Jučer na Žnjanu, stanem pomoć nepoznatom čouvku podignit zmaja, na njegovu molbu... Uto on uodleti, a ja ga usput pofotkam a da on ni ne zna.

I jesi ga uspija dobro ufotkat?

or ever

This photo is so very, very old. I went through my photostream the other day and came across this photo from a very windy day back in february 2010, and I realised I'd never edited all of my favourites.

It's weird how things have changed, I took this photo right before my a-levels that I was so scared of, and now I'm attending university.

I have never experienced such heavy wind again ever since, especially not during sunset.

One of my favourite books as a child was The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. My mother had a very old copy from her own childhood and I was enthralled by the Victorian era story of the orphaned Mary who came from India where her parents had died to live with a cold uncle in his bleak Yorkshire manse.

Mary gradually uncovers the story of the house’s ‘Secret Garden’. This image is about the discovery of the key to the garden:

Mary tentatively asks (gardener) Ben Weatherstaff if anything is still living in the secret garden, and he replies that only the robin knows, as no one else has been inside in ten years. Mary wanders off, following the wall of the garden without a door. The robin follows her and leads her to a mound of freshly turned earth, which, when Mary examines it closely, contains a tarnished key that has long been buried. It may, Mary thinks, be the key to the secret garden.

~Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?

I thought that I might be strong,

Thought that I might belong,

Thought that I had a chance,

Had a strike of luck.

I wanted to be someone,

Wanted to have some fun,

Suddenly all was gone,

Out of my control.

One storm, one beat,

One cold, one heat,

Some show, some leave.

Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?

Taking a leap of faith,

In the lovers maze,

I spin my mind,

Till I’m reaching the ground,

That’s my-y-y-y, reply-y-y,

There’s words that I couldn’t find,

Times when I couldn’t be right,

Times when you blew my mind

Into outer space,

One storm, one beat,

One cold, one heat,

Some show, some leave.

Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?

Taking a leap of faith,

In the lovers maze,

I spin my mind,

Till I’m reaching the ground,

That’s my-y-y-y, reply-y-y.

Thinking about where we’ve been,

Thinking about what we’ve done,

Couldn’t we manage to hold on?

Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?

Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?

Taking a leap of faith,

In the lovers maze,

I spin my mind,

Till I’m reaching the ground,

That’s my-y-y-y, reply-y-y,

Too many ups and downs,

And it goes around,

Just spin my head,

Till I’m hitting the ground,

Can I-I-I-I, reply-y-y?~

The Reply

Doing a film taster session of 2weeks, in this time i've help produced a film in a group of 4. Our film is called "The Reply" a short film based on a letter we were given, which we had to take inspiration from.

I did backstage photography, cinematography, artwork and online editing.

When I went to this shop around 07 pm on 21st to buy a magazine I found him sleeping and two or three times I called him. No response and I clicked one photo and proceeded further for my works. This shop is old by 70-72 years and opened by the father of the vendor in the picture and he began assisting the former as a paper boy at the age of ten simultaneously continuing his studies.

Next day when I asked about this, with broad smile in face, he replied that this has been a routine habit of any news paper seller in India as he wakes 04 am in the morning and goes to bed at 12 midnight. That is why the tiredness and mini sleep in brief intervals.

One of the well known and oldest paper shops in Thiruvallikeni and everybody knows in the locality as Big Street Paper Shop and the man in the picture Logu is a B.Com. graduate and feels proud of his job.
