Thanks to a broken pushrod, I needed to either rebuild my engine or buy and install a new one. The cheaper option seemed to be the latter. So, we are in process of doing an engine replacement. A local chap with tons of knowledge is helping, and my son is even getting into the act.

I am cheered up each time I pass this section of a terrace of houses on Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street. At some stage in the past, the railings of the house on the right were replaced. Panoramic view of our replacement car. This car replaces our Fielder, which was heavily damaged in early March (when it was parked at our house and we were in Sapporo - someone slipped on the icy road and smashed into our car, next to the house). Instead of a station wagon, we got a mini-mini van - it's not quite as long but holds as much. In some ways, it's not as nice as the Fielder, and in other ways, it's better.
