CCTV HDD Replacement
08-02-2020
The "new" Aldi Home Protector CCTV we got a short while back from Aldi was throwing up a drive error and packed up. I eventually dug out my New HDD that was meant for my PC. It works fine once the CCTV boots with very loud beeping for "no drive installed" error. When it finished realizing there was a new drive inside itself it shut the hell up.
Old drive is a Toshiba DT01ABA100V 1TB HDD SATA 6.
Its from December 2017 so its a new drive it should not have failed as fast as it did. The previous CCTV Lasted for 7 years until PSU failure.
The new Replacement drive is a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM006, its probably overkill for quality for CCTV. If I was not having to get a new tyre for Corsa €55 and NCT and other €55 I would have got a Purple drive as they are made for it. Hopefully I am not abusing the new HDD by using as a CCTV drive.
