Great Tit [Parus Major]
A lovely afternoon brought literally hundreds of wee birdies to my feeders at The Pixies.
This Great Tit waited on a branch for a few seconds, before darting down to get a peanut. Sometimes, they will sit and eat sunflower hearts but normally they just swoop in, take a nut, and fly off, then come back and repeat the procedure. Apparently, they stash their food for later.

All modern soft-gel encapsulation uses variations of a process developed by R. P. Scherer in 1933. His innovation was to use a rotary die to produce the capsules, with the filling taking place by blow molding. This method reduced wastage, and was the first process to yield capsules with highly repeatable dosage.
Softgels can be an effective delivery system for oral drugs, especially poorly soluble drugs. This is because the fill can contain liquid ingredients that help increase solubility or permeability of the drug across the membranes in the body. Liquid ingredients are difficult to include in any other solid dosage form such as a tablet.

This was the sunset I was trying to repeat (or better) when I found the best thing to shoot was the gulls. Also, it seem there are a few Pine Islands in Florida, this one is located by Wiki Wachee if that helps. The blurry gulls in the original shot were replaced with some sharp ones and a texture added by Lenebem-Anna. For the Slider Sunday group. Spring has finally come to lovely New Jersey so I've been working mostly on yard work but I appreciate all the visits, comments and favs!
Tonight after work, CN local L51592-02 made a run into town, only this guy had the relatively freshly repainted BLE 902. A half hour earlier and a few miles down the track near 39th Street would have found both this BLE and the orange BLE 908 saluting each other, as they both made their own way leading their respective trains over to Glenn Yard. The B&LE invasion is here and I certainly will not complain!
Missed this a few days earlier, luckily it re-ran twice in the same week on the lovely midday through Robertson path, perfect for trains heading south in winter.

I wish this van was parked somewhere else and in better light when I photographed it, but what can you do? I love these old VW vans. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while, and it’s actually for sale at the moment... I met the owner today, and she’s a very cool person (of course she is!). She’s a fellow redhead and sings in a band called Sly Violet. I liked her immediately.
We bought her CD and listened to it on the way home from the cottage. Great stuff! We also listened to this song on repeat. It’s one of my top picks for summer 2019.
Back in August of this year I took the same exact shot of 867 heading north here, albeit it was about 70 degrees warmer!!!
Pacific Crest Trail, Snoqualmie Pass, Washington
On another sunny day in this endlessly hot and dry summer, I headed to my happy place: boots on a trail in the mountains. With forecasted hot temperatures even at the higher elevations, and feeling a bit lacking in ambition after last week's challenging hike to Grand Park, I opted for a familiar trail closer to home.
The dry winter and hot summer have taken a toll on the wildflowers that typically carpet these hillsides, though patches of paintbrush and daisies still manage to valiantly defy the conditions. And as always, the immutable beauty of the mountains endures...
