From the archives..a welcoming sight whenever i go home to the province..i had to make the driver stop to take this one..but i cant go home now due to travel restrictions..will take one again as soon as i can..
More and more automakers are using recycled plastics (from bottles, caps, containers, and other plastic packaging we use every day) and plant-derived polymers for an increasing number of automobile parts and components in almost every car today.

This small place, located in the historical core of Liège, has been entirely renewed between 1978 and 1985. Charles Vandenhove (1927-) was the architect of the project. He proposed an intervention on the XVIIth and XVIIIth century building characterized by a marked difference between existing structures and new ones, through the use of steel and concrete and postmodern architecture. As one can see from the picture, the place has kept its character and attractiveness over the years…

We were photographing the species that appeared when the guide excitedly told us that an owlet was vocalizing. Since we hadn't photographed an owlet before, we tried with renewed enthusiasm to identify the origin of the sound, but quickly became discouraged as it seemed beyond our capacity to identify a bird that we already knew to be very small, although we had never seen one before. We refocused on what was displayed before our eyes and didn't think about it anymore.
After about 15 minutes, the guide exclaimed excitedly, "it's over there". However, even with the explanation of where to look, it was not easy and some of us took a few minutes to follow the instructions of the trunks to find this small, but beautiful, ball of feathers!
We spent another 10 minutes photographing this beauty, searching for possible angles, backgrounds, and frames. I even managed to find a second bird by myself. The difficult part is finding the first one :)

I updated my head to Catwa HDPRO, and could not be happier. There are so many more options of tweaking and adjusting in these new and modern heads. It took me quite some time to get the look "right", so it feels like 'me', but now finally there.

A nice way to close the year.
After arrived home from our Christmas vacation travels yesterday, I decided to go hiking up the Gandy Dancer Trail this morning to reflect on the year and to pray. The reflection was nice. Been a busy and blessed year.
As I was hiking back home, I found myself in a particularly intense state of hungering for more of God and His righteousness in my life. As always, I had my camera at my side, and even was trying out the new camouflage covering for my lens that my son gave me. But especially at that moment, any hopes or desires for wildlife to photograph faded into insignificance for the burdens of my heart as I asked God to create in me a clean heart and renew a right Spirit within me. How I long to be so much more than I am for Him.
Just then, I glanced downward to the side of the trail as I was 30 feet above the lake beside me, only to find myself staring eye-to-eye with this Barred Owl. With camera in hand, I snapped this shot of a bird that wasn’t interested in moving.
A quote I have known for years came to mind, “Remain before God until unutterable longings are begotten within you for salvation, and the sweet evidence is obtained of pardoned sin.”
Like has happened so very many times in the past in similar situations, I walked away in peace. How many times has God drawn near through nature to let me know He hears these prayers? How many times has it been a Barred Owl.
This is why I take my camera with me on hikes while I am out praying, to capture these hugs from God.
Life weaves and twists itself, but I'm very grateful for having the loving people around me and for all the wonderful memories.

Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3103 leads a quartet of big Southern Pacific EMDs through Sutro Cut near Spanish Fork, Utah on Oct. 23, 1983. The Union Pacific had recently merged with the Missouri Pacific and Western Pacific, giving the D&RGW and SP a renewed freight hauling partnership that lasted until the SP merged with the UP in 1996.
Blue Heron at our wildlife refuge couldn't decide if he wanted to come out from the reeds...his head was in and out knowing he was scouting for food, tho decided to take it slow. Interesting to watch.

Thanks for your visits, greatly appreciated. Still recovering from a major fall...bones weren't broken the knee, ankle and foot tissue & ligaments massively bruised. Healing is a good thing happy to wake every morning with a renewed day ahead. Kinda feel like this bird coming out from shelter.
