All purpose car built on the Renault 4 chassis by TEILHOL for RENAULT. Tubular structure with fiberglass body.
The body colours were changed every year or year and a half. This ivory model is from 1986.
It was also available as a 4x4 and the plein-air version had no doors and cloth roof that you could roll up.
This kind of cars sold very well in the 1970s, but these 1980s models were not in the dreams of the customers. They were turning their eyes towards spacewagons like the Renault Espace.

On my way back from the French Riviera I came across a field of classic cars. Even though it looks like the cars have been spending some times in the field, the garage is brand new.
One year ago, there was not a single car to be found on this field!
I got the opportunity to photograph freely. There were some amazing cars.

These models were built by the TEILHOL factory for RENAULT.
They were based on the Renault 4 GTL chassis, and the body was a tubular structure with plastic body panels.
They were very much appreciated in the countryside and by the sea, as a practical and simple vehicle.

Abandoned wreck of a rare Rodeo, Renaults answer to the succesful Mehari. But selling figures were never that high compared to the Mehari (I saw 4 of them during this trip).
The Rodeo was produced by Teilhol, an independent French coachbuilder, on a platform of the R4 GTL. Teilhol used polyester and polyurethane for the body.
Teilhol was formed out of ACL, which developed and styled the 1970-1981 Rodéo 4 and 1972-1981 Rodéo 6.
The Rodeo 5 MK1 was presented in June 1981, but got already in 1982 a complete redesigned body.
1108cc.
Production Rodéo 5: 1981-1987.
