During a beautiful sunset on the banks of Loch Ossian, I look across towards the small islands and distant mountains.
I was staying in Loch Ossian Youth Hostel, just behind where this was taken from. It was one of the best experiences I could wish for living in some of the most remote moorland in the country.

A beautiful, remote and culturally rich country infamous for its military regime, Myanmar (Burma) has in recent years been making small steps towards democracy, with the first democratically elected government in 2015, after more than half a century.
Modern conveniences, such as mobile-phone coverage and internet access, are now common, however for all the recent changes, Myanmar remains at heart a rural nation of traditional values - though one may have hard time to find someone among the younger generation without a smartphone or Facebook profile.
One will still encounter men wearing the sarong-like longyi and chewing betel nut, spitting the blood-red juice onto the ground, women with faces smothered in thanakha (a natural sunblock), and cheroot-smoking grannies. Trishaws still ply city streets, while the horse or bullock and cart is common rural transport.

We carefully planned our 3-weeks long Burmese adventure around 6-days long hiking trip in the remote Chin state, where we commenced our journey in the hilltop settlement of Mindat, and subsequently hiked for four days across ethnic minority villages using old footpaths and mule trails.
Besides that, Bagan was the obvious spot to spend a few days exploring its temples, and we also spent a few days more in the south around Hpa-An. Then, finally, Ngapali was the ultimate destination for our beach leisure time.
After the long trip through the wilderness the postman eventually found the address, now he hoped they were in.
Just an idea that I had for giving instructions on how to use the remote controls to people who aren't that tech-minded. You just scan the remotes, load the images into your favorite drawing program, and add some arrows & instructions.

I just received in the mail a new toy: a remote control for my D40. It took a little experimentation to figure it out, but I think I can make it work.

I need both to run my TV. One is for DirecTV and for some reason it won't pair up with my TV. The other one turns the TV on/off and controls the volume. 2/

I rigged up a ghetto-stylee remote flash for the Holga, by taping an optical slave to the on-cam flash, then plugging it into a PW transmitter. $20 camera with $400 radio slaves, rock and roll baby
LR-10187 - Remote controlled from the computer to see if I could get something reasonable out of artificial light and just grabbed the nearest thing. Interesting technique can see a lot of uses, not sure how you can see from a kite! but that's another project then
Firmware upgrade to Version 2.0, seems to be better, but been shooting raw (small) as disappointed with the Jpeg stuff.
The wall is not that colour so that was an interesting result but SOOC with a crop.
CS6 arrived and is installed think that is about going through the examples, to much to soon otherwise, perhaps
