Our Manhattan office looked out at the WTC, so a month later I took a few pictures of the cleanup that was underway. The sight of the massive 110 story buildings that once towered over us compacted down to ground level left me numb.

After photographing the last ever Transpeak, on the way across to Piccadilly Station, we caught up with the Manchester Together Enviro, which has been specially vinylled up to remember the 22 people who lost their lives at the Manchester Arena attack on the 22nd May 2017.

"The theory that, all the weakly children being dead, the rate would fall off is not so far borne out by the facts. The strong ones must be dying now and they will all be dead by the spring of 1903" Statement by Lord Milner (1901)
Proportionately more Boer (farmer) women and children died in the British concentration camps in South Africa than all who died in the Nazi camps during WW2.
She lived in a farmhouse just like this. No T.V., no dishwasher, no washing machine, no MP3 player but 500 acres, endless hard work and the belief that she was the luckiest woman alive.
César Chavez remembered
In 1986, I attended a talk by César Chavez in Colorado. I was one of about 15 people at the event held in someone’s living room. I got to hear him talk about his life organizing and advocating for farm workers, and I remember him being remarkably gentle and kind.

Everybody remember the hype when this casting was first released? It felt as though every collector wanted one or more including myself and went to some effort to find them. Predictably they are now annoying peg warmers and maybe thats why this second release has had a more muted reception.
Ironically I actually prefer this version and annoyingly also know its going to be harder to track down in this current Coronavirus crisis. Mint and boxed.
When your hopes are fading and they can't be found
Dreams have left you waiting, friends have let you down
Just remember I love you
And it'll be alright
Just remember I love you
More than I can say
Maybe then your blues will fade away
LR-11629 - Forecast was for rain and it did, so here's a dual memory jogger of the wonderful sunny Bank Holiday (a rarity in the UK) and a legend of Football.
Not been a huge fan of football in recent years, but sometimes things happen and worthy of pulling stuff from the memory banks for a few moments. So Sir Alexander Chapman "Alex" Ferguson, CBE, or Alex Ferguson a name from childhood days, announces his retirement after managing Manchester United for 27 years, worth remembering his contribution to football in the UK and across the world. The question is who will they get to fill his boots when the sun goes down. Perhaps he'll pop down to our little rock for a break every now and then or use the skilled surgeons for his forthcoming hip replacement :)

Some memories are too powerful to forget. No matter how much time & effort you put into burying them deep within your subconscious they somehow always find a way back to the forefront of your mind. My memories plague my dreams. I refuse to acknowledge them during my waking hours, but my control wanes when I sleep. In the comfort of my bed, laying next to my husband, I wrestle with the demons of my past. When I wake I feel tense and drained. I never talk about it. I never let on to anyone. I simply begin the process of pushing everything down again and move on.

Remember those late 80's, early 90's Volvos? The ones that all seemed to be that funny metallic light blue, and handled like APC's?
Those things were awesome.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

“Maine was a United States Navy ship that sank in Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898, contributing to the outbreak of the Spanish–American War in April. U.S. newspapers, engaging in yellow journalism to boost circulation, claimed that the Spanish were responsible for the ship's destruction. The phrase, "Remember the Maine! To hell with Spain!" became a rallying cry for action. Although the Maine explosion was not a direct cause, it served as a catalyst that accelerated the events leading up to the war.”
