So, the Yangtze cruise we took had a day of excursions of ship in Wanzhou. Much of this city will ultimately be relocated due to the 3-gorges project, this woman and her family were relocated to a new manufactured town. We were "allowed" to tour her house to see how she lives. She was expecting tourists like me to give her a tip to take her picture, see her hand. Ultimately this is quite sad... her farming life has been ended, and her whole family now lives in plain apartments that yes are comfortable but their whole life has been changed.... Left a very bad taste in my mouth.

In 1996, remains from the Prairie City Cemetery were interred after being discovered during the construction of the Prairie City Road on-ramp to Highway 50.

The work of constructing a new chapel Margao madel at a cost of around Rs 20 lakhs has been awarded to Race Constructions and is expected to be completed within six months. The new chapel will have 45 sq mts of built up area as against the existing 22 sq mts and will be relocated opposite the existing site on municipal land that has been filled up.

3)This a groups of people forced to evict their phnom penh home. While their standard of living had impoved (they now had stone houses, with power and running water, and homes that didn’t constantly flood (this was a past problem). However, they were 20 km from their livelihoods. Many of them do ahaajai, which is collecting metal, or plastic to make a living. I have told you about them before but they make perhaps 2.50 a day, honking their horns, searching for scraps. They are everywhere in Phnom Penh. Unfortunately 2.50 is also the cost of paying someone to take them to the city to search for scraps. There has been an increase in mine explosions, due to more people making their living searching for metal scraps etc.
