Relocated was a three year (2001 – 2003) project based at Kensington public housing estate.
Photographer Angela Bailey and writer Angela Costi were based at the estate and worked with tenants and relocated tenants to document the redevelopment of this estate in physical, social and emotional terms and to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution made by tenants (past and present) to Kensington and to Melbourne generally.
This public housing estate was redeveloped into a new public/private housing development and 400 households (around 1000 people) were relocated temporarily or permanently from the estate to suburbs across Melbourne. Given the small size of Kensington (approximately 5000 people), this redevelopment signified a huge shift locally.
The project was a collaboration with the Tenants Union of Victoria, the Kensington Public Tenants Association, and the Office of Housing. Public outcomes of reLOCATED included an exhibition and public performance on the estate, an exhibition at Horti Hall Gallery in Carlton, and the publication of a book.

July 31, 2007 - The 2nd public meeting was held on the proposed relocations of the airports now located in Fishers and Chesterfield, Indiana to Lapel, Indiana was held by Madison County Commissioner Paul Wilson at the Trinity Life Center Tuesday Evening to a standing room only crowd estimated to be in excess of 350 people from the surrounding area. There is a growing concern by some Lapel area residents that they may be in this fight alone.

Solano County’s Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) works together with the public to solve financial, legal and the emotional challenges that come with co-parenting. As a department with a difficult task, creating an environment with a positive workplace strategy helped improve their image and reinvigorated the work culture while delivering a welcoming and comfortable space for their clients.
DCSS’s new location, on the 5th floor of the County Administration Building, introduces an improved workflow for staff including a complete open office floor plan with access to natural daylight and integrated technology designed to enable staff to work from any of the collaborative areas. A training room and various sized meeting rooms provide staff dedicated spaces to collaborate and provide continuous staff training. Private interview rooms deliver space for DCSS to consult with clients on sensitive matters. The waiting room incorporates a large wall-length graphic wallcovering representing a “new horizon” emulating a more sophisticated version of a child’s painting. To help further reinforce the mission of the department and carry the design concept throughout, each of the conference spaces have large photographic wall coverings incorporating images of children and parents. The new DCSS environment gives a “fresh start” for both the DCSS staff and the clients they serve.
The fact that I can accumulate so many documents with sensitive information is quite scary. There are documents from work and then there are documents with my personal information. I found plenty of personal documents that I no longer find the need to keep. The thought of discarding a whole lot of trash containing information about myself at one go scares me. I got so paranoid that I did not feel comfortable chucking into the waste paper basket things that I would normally have discarded in this manner. I ended up setting them aside for the shredder.
These days, we spend part of our free time sitting beside the shredder feeding it. It is like “烧金纸”, or "burning incense paper", a rite performed by some Chinese in Singapore, where stashes of incense paper are burnt as offerings for the dead.
