Crews from Verizon Installing New Telephone Poles. The Telephone Pole Relocation is the First Step to Building a New Sidewalk. The Wires will be Transfered to the New Poles. The Old Poles will be Removed.
A large section of Crew supporters, who normally inhabit the northeast corner of Crew Stadium, relocated to the northern-most section of the upper deck during the Columbus Crew's game against the Colorado Rapids on June 26, 2011.
The reasons for the move are still emerging, and it is not my intent to comment one way or the other on the situation.
western diamondback relocated today...he denned under our house. I didn't want to move him because it's getting cold again, but hubby said move him or he dies...so we moved him. I found a good spot for him , someplace where he can be protected for the rest of the winter and food will be close by.
After many, many years living in and around Williamsburg, I'm leaving. My husband got a job offer from UVA and we decided that he should take it. So off to Charlottesville we go in early December!
This is an old photo taken near Loft Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. I have alarmingly few photos of Virginia mountains. I'm guessing that will change soon.

There's a pile of garbage under there. I figured if the next door neighbour could pile his old tires where they were out of sight, out of mind, I could do the same with my yard waste. Not the most environmentally friendly option, I know. But it's about the level of interaction I can handle with the neighbours...or just paying to have the garbage taken to the dump.
"Relocation" is a piece composed of two photographs of the same size side by side. In both photos, I am seen wearing a white dress shirt and black jeans. In the left photo, I am smiling, wearing red lipstick and on the left sleeve of my shirt, there are red pieces of fabric and 5 pieces of red yarn sewn on. There is also red and crimson food dye dripping on the sleeve. My hands are in a prayer position in front of the center of my torso. In the right photo, the dress shirt is plain, but my hair is messy and my eyes are dark with makeup. My face is distressed and my arms are by my side. Both photos are edited to have low saturation and to appear very dark and moody. The photos are also slightly grainy and have high sharpness. The concept behind this piece is self-harm and how people use it to try to turn their emotional pain into physical pain, but it's not an effective method. The mood of this piece is very dark and gory as it shows one bleeding out. It also shows irony, as in the middle photo, I am seen smiling while I'm 'bleeding out.' This piece is a self-reflective piece as it discusses my personal experience and struggle with depression and self-harm and how I've grown to learn that it is not effective and just causes more harm than one started with. This is portrayed as I tell a story through these pieces: the first photo shows me, clean, but in extreme mental distress. The second photo shows me bleeding and feeling at ease and experiencing a break from feeling miserable. The last photo shows me bleeding and in distress, tying in the message that self-harm is not a suitable coping mechanism to get rid of mental distress and just causes more harm that the beginning.

As we paddle through the high marsh, we approach Boy Scout Island, a small uninhabited island in the middle of the marshy bend of the May River. This great blue heron had been perching on a limb of an overhanging live oak and as we drew closer, left his perch to alight on the other side of the island...

Medieval glass relocated into the window of the south porch. The fifteenth century glass includes parts of an Annunciation and tracery elements with angels and greyhounds.
Heading over the Gloucestershire border Dymock church was my first port of call, and a fascinating building it is too. Tucked away in its leafy enclosure of a churchyard, St Mary's is still largely a Norman building though with many later modifications. The section of blind-arcading on the south side of the chancel is the biggest initial indication of 12th century work (formerly this would have been connected to the now lost apse, replaced by the usual square termination in the following centuries). The south doorway in the porch is also Norman work with a foliate design on the tympanum. The tower with its short spire at the west end is a 15th century addition.
Upon entering the church one is first distracted by the window to the left of the Norman doorway, for this contains 15th century glass, presumably gathered here from another window inside the church (I don't think I've seen this situation before, where the church's most valuable remaining medieval glass is relegated to the porch, but at least it can be easily studied).
Inside the nave is rather dark and tunnel-like thanks to the long Norman walls (sadly scraped of their plaster in the Victorian period) that become more punctuated towards the east end by windows and arches into chancel and transept. A plaster ceiling above at least dispels some of the gloom below. It is an intriguing space that takes some time to explore, with a few memorials and older features of note, and some early windows by Kempe.
Dymock church is normally kept open and welcoming to visitors (when signing the visitors book I noticed I'd just missed out on bumping into some friends here from Stroud just the day before!).
