Den Gamble By (The Old Town) in Aarhus is an open-air museum of urban history and culture in Denmark through three centuries.
The museum consists of more than 75 historic houses relocated from all over Denmark.

Nestled within the museum's expansive grounds, the village features festively decorated historic buildings, each showcasing how Christmas was celebrated in various periods and social classes.
Key West Cemetery was relocated from Higgs Beach to this site in 1847 after being ravaged by a hurricane the previous year.Over 75000 people are interred here in in-ground and crypt style graves,given the closeness to sea level.Some prominent memorials in the cemetery include those to the Battleship Maine Disaster and one honoring those who served in the 1868 Cuban Revolution.Cultural diversity is in prominent display here as sites range from elaborate markers to simple headstones.

I was once told, early in my birding days, that these falcons were common...I never found that to be true!?

Presenting a soaring vista of an idealized view of Mount Chocorua, New Hampshire, the Hartwell Memorial Window is among the most complex stained-glass landscapes produced in the United States. Commissioned by Mary Hartwell as a memorial in honor of her husband Frederick for the Central Baptist Church of Providence, Rhode Island (now Community Church of Providence), the majestic scene was inspired by the view from his family home. Agnes F. Northrop designed the window at the height of her five-decade-long career at Tiffany Studios. She specialized in intricate landscapes and worked with a team of experts to realize the 25-foot-high window, which is made up of 48 individual panels. In order to achieve highly natural effects, artists used a kaleidoscopic variety of glass types, some of which are built up two to five layers thick.
The Hartwell Memorial Window remained housed in the sanctuary of the Community Church of Providence until 2018, when the congregation decided to relocate it to the Art Institute of Chicago, where it could be conserved to ensure its long-term stability and remain on public view. This majestic work is currently installed at the top of the Woman’s Board Grand Staircase, thanks to novel approaches to the window’s mounting, framing, and lighting.

It appears demolition will soon follow for this gem of Georgian British heritage.

Shopko was an original anchor to Northbridge Mall when it opened in 1987. The store announced in February 2019 to closed on May 12, 2019. The optical center has relocated to Austin's Shopko after it closed.
BNSF 7520 leads this DOD/Military train of all containers south out of Clarksville, MO. on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. Initially I was hoping for a train of equipment but got snubbed with containers.
Like most owls, the barn owl is nocturnal, relying on its acute sense of hearing when hunting in complete darkness. It often becomes active shortly before dusk and can sometimes be seen during the day when relocating from one roosting site to another. In Britain, on various Pacific Islands and perhaps elsewhere, it sometimes hunts by day. This practice may depend on whether the owl is mobbed by other birds if it emerges in daylight. However, in Britain, some birds continue to hunt by day even when mobbed by such birds as magpies, rooks and black-headed gulls, such diurnal activity possibly occurring when the previous night has been wet making hunting difficult. By contrast, in southern Europe and the tropics, the birds seem to be almost exclusively nocturnal, with the few birds that hunt by day being severely mobbed.
Barn owls are not particularly territorial but have a home range inside which they forage. For males in Scotland this has a radius of about 1 km (0.6 mi) from the nest site and an average size of about 300 hectares. Female home ranges largely coincide with that of their mates. Outside the breeding season, males and females usually roost separately, each one having about three favoured sites in which to conceal themselves by day, and which are also visited for short periods during the night. Roosting sites include holes in trees, fissures in cliffs, disused buildings, chimneys and haysheds and are often small in comparison to nesting sites. As the breeding season approaches, the birds move back to the vicinity of the chosen nest to roost.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, is also known as The Guitar Hotel due to its tower constructed to resemble a guitar, is a hotel and casino resort in Hollywood, Florida, United States, located on 100 acres (40 ha) of the Hollywood Reservation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The property currently has one hotel tower, a 140,000 sq ft (13,000 m2) casino, a large poker room, a 4-acre (1.6 ha) lagoon-style pool facility with a center bar, and many private restaurants, shops, spa, cabanas, bars, and nightclubs, and the Hard Rock Event Center. A large expansion was completed in October 2019.
The resort currently has a 12-story "classic Hard Rock Hotel" with 469 guest rooms and suites. Guests are greeted by a 50-foot (15 m) tall signature Hard Rock guitar, (based on a famous Gibson electric guitar model) at the entrance of the hotel, along with a massive LED advertising screen at the front of the main parking garage. The resort has 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2) of meeting space, including a 38,000-square-foot (3,500 m2) exhibit hall.
The Hard Rock's $1.5 billion property expansion project added a 450-foot (140 m) tower designed to appear as a guitar, with lights providing the imagery of guitar strings, and 638 rooms alongside a seven-story, 168-room "Oasis Tower" overlooking the pool cabanas— open on October 24, 2019, several months in advance of Super Bowl LIV being held in Miami on February 2, 2020. The expansion also included a 42,000-square-foot (3,900 m2) "Rock Spa", and over 20 new dining and nightlife destinations. Between the existing 12-story hotel, new Guitar Hotel, and new Oasis Tower, over 1,200 hotel rooms became available in October 2019.
On May 9, 2014, Seminole Chief Jim Billie announced a $100 million upgrade of the tribe's casinos, with much of that spent on the Hard Rock Hollywood location, including improved entryways, center pool bar, pool facility upgrades, updated hotel room, and suite interiors, and a new restaurant. As of March 2019, the tribe's upgrade budget was significantly increased to over $2.4 billion, split mainly between this location and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa.
The current casino layout covers over 140,000 sq ft (13,000 m2) featuring slot machines and various table games including blackjack, baccarat, mini-baccarat, Pai Gow poker, Let It Ride, and three-card poker. The casino does not have live craps and roulette, although there are electronic versions of those games available. As of June 2018, the poker room is located in a former ballroom area, relocated from its prior venue due to ongoing construction work.
Blackjack is the most popular card game in the United States and was an addition to the casino. In a deal valued at $1.1 billion, former Governor Charlie Crist gave the Seminole Tribe a license for blackjack in its casinos. In exchange, The Seminole Tribe loaned the State of Florida $1.1 billion over the course of two years. On July 3, 2008, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the governor's agreement was unconstitutional, but table games continue to operate because the Federal Department of the Interior approved the now-invalid pact with the state. The addition of blackjack to the Hard Rock casinos in Hollywood and Tampa gave credibility to its claim of being a major gambling destination.[
Hard Rock Live is a 7,000 seat multi-purpose theater, which opened on October 25, 2019, with a concert by Maroon 5. The theater replaced a 5,500 seat arena (razed in March 2018 as part of the property-wide expansion) of the same name, which hosted different types of events including musical acts, comedians, boxing, and other smaller events, along with a residency by Billy Joel. During construction of the new theater, events were held at the temporary 3,500 seat Hard Rock Event Center, which hosted acts including Britney Spears on her Piece of Me Tour.
The 69th edition of the Miss Universe competition was held on May 16, 2021, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino where Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa crowned her successor Andrea Meza of Mexico at the end of the event.
Model Anna Nicole Smith, who was staying at the resort, died in her hotel suite on February 8, 2007. An autopsy ruled her death was caused by an accidental drug overdose from prescription drugs.

Out with Paul Farrell this evening at Meols. The owner of Sue, one of my favourite boats here, has moved her mooring hence the title.
While most fans are "not a fan" of the new image, the guy I was traveling with was. Which is saying something, as he was older than me.
He got his fill on this trip, as we caught six of the eight that had been repainted.
This bridge is scheduled for replacement, so it will be interesting to see how a slight line relocation and type of bridge will impact this shot in the future.
A view of Dunham Mill just part of the Dunham NT Estate. Beyond can be seen the old stable block which houses the bell/clock tower and where there used to be a gift shop which has relocated to the new Visitor Centre. The Mill is open to the public, powered by a working water wheel used to cut wood gathered on the Estate.
Staats Mill Covered Bridge, also known as Tug Fork Covered Bridge, is near Ripley, West Virginia.
Built in 1887, the bridge originally crossed the Tug Fork of Big Mill Creek at a cost of $1724.
In 1983, the bridge was relocated to the FFA-FHA State Camp at Cedar Lakes, about three miles from its original site. It was reconstructed across a pond at a cost of $104,000.
The 25 km long crater row called Lakagigar was created during a relatively short, but catastrophic eruption between the 8th of June 1783 and February 1784, considered among the biggest and most poisonous eruptions of the earth during historical times. It created two vast lava fields with a total area of 565 km² and the total volume of tephra is estimated to have been 12,3 km³. Lava fountains were estimated to have reached heights of 800-1400 m (2,600-4,600 ft). In Great Britain, the summer of 1783 was known as the "sand-summer" due to ash fallout.
The consequences were enormous. Between 53% and 82% of the domestic animals and 20% of the human population perished as a result.
As Iceland was a part of the Danish Kingdom at the time, the Danish parliament debated the evacuation of the remaining 40.000 Icelanders and relocating them to Jutland, but fortunately nothing came of that. Most of the craters are now covered with Woolly Fringe Moss and the landscape is magnificent. The crater area was proclaimed inviolate in 1971.
This eruption caused failed or reduced crops in Europe and some historians claim it to be one of the factors of revolutions, such as the French in 1789.

Since my boyfriend moved in with me in January the closet/doll room was reassigned as his computer room/ mancave. Since my house is not that big, all of the dolls now live in the living room. It is kinda nice that i can now see them from the couch when i watch t.v.
Wild donkeys are not everyone's cup of tea. But growing up, I always had a soft spot for such creatures.
Only recently, a hiker's life was saved by a pack of burros in Death Valley. The lone hiker had fallen victim to the demands of peak summer conditions, and developed rhabdomyolysis. Isolated and hopeless, the hiker observed a pack of feral donkeys and followed their tracks. The donkeys led the man to a vital water source, which sustained the hiker for 7 days before being rescued by rangers.
2018 has seen the mission to remove feral donkeys from the park and relocate them to sanctuaries elsewhere.
