Happy (early) fence Friday.

I'm off for the weekend but will check in when I can.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I've passed these oldish pumps (Grass Valley off the Oregon Scenic Byway US 97 in Oregon obviously) many times but always during times when the light was not good. This day the sun was setting so I pulled over and took some pictures. Not sure this was the best one photographically, but I liked the fact that the price of fuel could be read.

Yet, another antique store here in Wimberley..;) This one's been around for a while. If you're ever seen the show "Pickers" that's this place. It's just like they found it, without the dirt..;) Nothing's painted or shined up

This old pier sitting off the California Coast was used for a cannery that operated on the Monterey Bay. Now it is used as a night home for sea birds.

Nothing new, the contrary in fact.

Took several days of work, mostly a few half hours here and there.

A matching set of Columbia Basin Railroad SD19-1 652 and SD9s 12 and 608 thunder past a beautiful old wooden elevator South of Bruce, Washington, with a train for the BNSF interchange in Connell.

Soputhern Outer Banks. Thanks for the look and have a great week ahead.

On the way to Arcadia there was this huge antique place along the side of the road that lots on interesting stuff including unique items made by local craftspeople.

Oh, how beautiful it used to be,

Just you and me far beyond the sea.

The waters, scarce in motion,

Quivering still.

At the end of the river the sundown beams.

All the relics of a life long lived.

Here, weary traveller, rest your wand.

Sleep the journey from your eyes.

Union Pacific's business train S-SLCB-04 was rolling north through Brighton Park on a cloudy morning in 2003. It had originated in Saint Louis and came up the GM&O and then took the Geneva Subdivision to Council Bluffs.

The semaphores have long since been replaced and the E-units are rarely seen on UP's business trains anymore. I'm glad I made the effort when I could since this will never happen again.

This once relevant barn is surrounded by relics, structures and machinery no longer used. Every generation sees magnificent changes from beginning to end but when it happens to you, it can take you by surprise.

On a mild November afternoon in 2012, D743 is making their return towards Lima with a GP30 road slug on the point as they split the B&O CPL's at BE 153.6 between Leipsic and Ottawa. These signals met their demise in the spring of 2016, and I haven't seen a GP30 slug in a long time, though I believe they're still around.

CSXT 8540, one of the few operating SD50-3's, splits the color position light signals at South Ottawa.

Happy Monochrome Monday, everyone!

What remains of an antique Chevy truck (I have no idea the model or year) sits on display in the semi-ghost town of Shaniko, Oregon. I say "semi-ghost" because in 2016 the mayor, Goldie Roberts, insisted the town had a population of 24. If it were a ghost town it would be completely deserted or abandoned.
