Tower Bridge, London

Buddha relic dome of Bao'en temple heritage park.

It's said there are 4200 lights on the dome, which are reflected on the glass floor, which doubles the amount.

It's also said the lights keep rotating in seven changing colors.

You ever get so hungry you can't sleep, but you're too tired to make anything? That's my life right now. That has nothing to do with this picture.

You should go check out Ironwood Hills: Paranoia, though. Fun little game/hunt thing. Spoopy. All that good stuff. Get rides over on my blog!

I posted an earlier version of this relic a week or two ago. The Alsupps station in that photo is to the right of this image. Highway 287 through town is super busy and loud with truck traffic. Hence, the road damage shown at the bottom of this photo. I ran across the street and quickly took this photo from a very busy truck stop directly across from this old gas station.

Athens ruin 雅典古蹟

Newkirk, New Mexico

Built in 1910, this building first served as a post office, and later also as a store and gas station.

In the heart of Athens, between the archaeological sites of the Roman Agora and Hadrian's Library, is one of the city's most important pilgrimages, the holy church of Panagia Grigorousa. It was built in 1922 on the site of a Byzantine church. The interior is decorated with impressive frescoes by the Zakynthian iconographer Dimitrios Pelekasis, while a prominent place is occupied by the miraculous icon, a relic of Asia Minor refugees, which was donated to the church and is called "Our Lady Grigorousa", because it quickly fulfills the prayers of the faithful.

Along the road to Stratford there sits this nice truck. I would prefer it did not have the flags.

Another shot from my visit to the Swale Estuary a couple of years ago. This one at a slightly lower tide height than my previous edit. Decided on a 16:9 crop to lose some of the sky.

A morning spent daydreaming in a very pretty space provided by The University of New Mexico.

Silverton, Colorado

One of many Denver & Rio Grande relics in town.

Resting under the towering image of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho sits a much smaller Buddha figure. This one has been adorned with gold leaf, a popular offering that worshippers bring with them when they go to pray.

Cart Gap...one from this morning.

Bodie, California. It would seem obvious for most people that climbing on this old truck would not be a good idea. However, there are those who need a sign advising them to not climb on the truck. The sign only stops the ones who can read and who actually care about preserving such a relic.

This relic is east of home and exactly what I was hunting for. There are a few old, abandoned barns around rural Alberta, and this one provided easy access because it was close to the highway.

The white, fluffy clouds were once again out, which always motivates me to grab my gear and search for opportunities. With an approach so immediate and white fluffy clouds an ideal pallette, this old relic was the perfect target.

♥She is always alone, learned to love being with herself with her heart of pure gold, she is sure that no one will take this relic

An eastbound Union Pacific coal train travels by the east end of Eisele (formerly Clay) siding, Colorado, passing a partially hidden relic from the past. Former D&RGW tank car No. X2906, a former water car, is buried in a low earthen berm here. Many years ago, a small community called Fireclay was located here, with this tank car most likely used as water storage for the town. Now the 8123 gallon capacity car rests among the rocks, dirt, grass and shrubs, providing a curiosity to another era.

281, with a freshly painted CSX MAC rebuild on point, flies past the one correct-facing intermediate searchlight at milepost 38.6, in Gurnee, IL.

This thing is surprisingly accessible for how unknown it is (not that I’m complaining, of course!)
