Spotted on a road trip. Rusty, but still maintaining a presence...

Tower Bridge, London

Buddha relic dome of Bao'en temple heritage park.

It's said there are 4200 lights on the dome, which are reflected on the glass floor, which doubles the amount.

It's also said the lights keep rotating in seven changing colors.

near the town of Vian, Ok. on the Arkansas River, this old shack was likely the home of a poor or tenant farmer in the dust bowl era...famed photographer Dorothea Lange photographed many such places and people in the Vian area in the 1930's...Lange's photos inspired John Steinbeck's novel "Grapes of Wrath" set in this rural county...this resilient culture also produced folk singer Woody Guthrie born just down the road in Okemah

You ever get so hungry you can't sleep, but you're too tired to make anything? That's my life right now. That has nothing to do with this picture.

You should go check out Ironwood Hills: Paranoia, though. Fun little game/hunt thing. Spoopy. All that good stuff. Get rides over on my blog!

Moving down the water

John is drifting out of sight,

Its only at the turning point

That you find out how you fight.

In the cold, feel the cold

All around

And the rush of crashing water

Surrounds me with its sound.

Striking out to reach you

I can't get through to the other side,

When you're racing in the rapids

There's only one way, that's to ride.

I posted an earlier version of this relic a week or two ago. The Alsupps station in that photo is to the right of this image. Highway 287 through town is super busy and loud with truck traffic. Hence, the road damage shown at the bottom of this photo. I ran across the street and quickly took this photo from a very busy truck stop directly across from this old gas station.

Built in 1910, this building first served as a post office, and later also as a store and gas station.

Buddah’s Tooth Relic Temple and Museum holds some of Buddhism’s most revered artefacts. Along with other religious items, the temple houses Buddha’s canine tooth in a gold stupa weighing 320 kilograms. The Temple is more than a place of worship and meditation, it also serves as a Buddhist social center with a museum, regular educational talks, and cultural performances.

The Temple’s design is based on the Chinese Tang Dynasty architecture, and is located in Singapore’s Chinatown, with the backdrop of Singapore’s modern skyline.

Another shot from my visit to the Swale Estuary a couple of years ago. This one at a slightly lower tide height than my previous edit. Decided on a 16:9 crop to lose some of the sky.

Resting under the towering image of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho sits a much smaller Buddha figure. This one has been adorned with gold leaf, a popular offering that worshippers bring with them when they go to pray.

The Atlantic Coast Line era signal bridge at North Smithfield managed to evade replacement when the ACL-era signals on the line were replaced over the past two decades. Although it has modern three-light signal heads on it, the ACL bridge design stands out amid the sea of aluminum cantilevers elsewhere on the line. Photographing this one in sun is a tricky affair as the tracks run southwest-to-northeast here, so it only really works during summer mornings. Although this was a going away shot, it worked out nicely that they were on the right-hand main here. The train is C31316, headed south toward Florence with another load of coal for the Carolina power plants.
