(noun): A measure of consistency where a test is split in two and the scores for each half of the test is compared with one another. If the test is consistent it leads the experimenter to believe that it is most likely measuring the same thing. This is not to be confused with validity where the experimenter is interested if the test measures what it is suppose to measure. A test that is consistent most likely is measuring something; the experimenter just does not know what that "something" is. This is why it is said that reliability sets the ceiling of validity.

Rolls Royce was established in 1904 by the partnership of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. They quickly developed a reputation for superior engineering, smoothness and reliability.

The 40/50 horsepower was produced from 1906-26, (production paused from 1914-19 during World War I). For promotional purposes, one car was painted in aluminium paint with silver-plated fittings. The car was named the 'Silver Ghost' to emphasise its ghost-like quietness, and a plaque bearing this name adorned the bulkhead. After this the press referred to the 40/50 as the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, and from 1925 it was officially recognised by Rolls Royce as the 'Silver Ghost', 7874 were made.

Electric lights were standardised by 1919

Initially 7036cc side valve 6 cyl, from 1910, 7428cc.

A smaller car was introduced in 1922, the Rolls Royce Twenty.

The Silver Ghost was replaced in 1926 by the Rolls Royce Phantom.

Images and words to get at the heart of reliability

I had the exact same car when I lived in the States. It's a solid machine, only giving out after 25 years of reliable use.
