Again- really reminds of the Exorcist, right? Here's the full view of the castle wall from the previous shot.
I'm pretty sure we were caught in the beams once or twice- I wonder if our giant forms were suddenly cast upon the castle for all to see?
We did our best to stay hidden though, moving -I think- like trained spies, from shadow to shadow, crouching and sprinting. I mean, in the rubbishy way the two of us do. But still.
I took quite a lot of shots whilst we were here, but the lighting conditions were just dire so I think this will be the last one. There was a nice one of the interior courtyard, but I think I'd be embarrassed to upload it to Flickr. I don't want people knowing how bad a photographer I really am..

The first of a few projects for me this year was a quick trip to Iceland to see the new volcano that is erupting there. A spectacular way to "re-enter" the world after 18 months of relatively limited travel.
A spectacular display of hot lava during the volcanic eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula. The eruption, which started in late March 2021, has attracted tourists from all over Iceland and the world.

"After the recent Statement released by Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours, Jane Cole, Managing Director of Blackpool Transport has issued the following statement addressing concerns regarding the future of the Heritage Tram operation:
“As Managing Director of Blackpool Transport, I would like to reach out to everyone who has expressed their concerns about the future of the Heritage Tram operation. I am the biggest advocate for the preservation and future of our beautiful assets.
“I can confirm that the future of our heritage trams is safe and we aim to have them back on the Promenade next year. However, before that can happen there are a number of complex operational issues that need to be addressed.
“While we work on these, we have made the difficult decision to suspend operations. We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this has caused to our passengers but it is the right decision at this time.
“Recently we have been able to run the heritage trams out of Starr Gate depot which does not interfere with the ongoing works at Rigby Road. We are considering how this could provide a solution to some of the challenges we are currently facing.
“It is also important to clarify that the suspension of tram tours does not affect plans for the Rigby Road tram shed. In fact, it highlights the importance of bringing our vision for Tramtown to life to preserve Blackpool’s heritage.

No, that's not Jennifer Garner (I wish) but a fellow angler releasing a small grilse (a grilse being a one sea winter salmon weighing about 3 to 3 1/2 pounds) I caught on the Pinware River in Labrador. Since this one was just in from the ocean ( I fish mostly in the tidal pools) its colors were intense! The photo does not even come close to capturing the irridescent silvers, purples, blues, and greys!
As are most of them in the lower part of the river, this one was a magnificent fighter. The pleasures of fly fishing are many but the four main ones are...getting a fish to rise for the fly; actually hooking it...which,for me, is the ultimate pleasure; playing it...especially if it's a fighter; and the second best thing...releasing it. I like where the right hand is held in this photo but not that the head is out of water. The left hand, I hope you notice, is not pinching the tail of the fish... just supporting it. That is definitely a good thing.So, two out of three on the release style. This is my fish ... but, not me releasing it. It is an angler who was nearby.

Playing with my new, one-day-old Nikon SB-900. It's a speedlight and it really rocks. I still haven't read the user's manual but I was just trying it out and I came up with this. Do let me know what you guys think cause I'm new to alternate strobe lights and flashes at an angle.
