I've always loved the tranquility that comes in the shower, the whole world disappears behind the rush of water and the smell of clean.
I drew inspiration for this piece from a black and white photograph of a woman with her hands placed around her face. By using a wide range of colors and short, quick brushstrokes I wanted to demonstrate my personal style. Additionally, this piece was awarded first place for District 7 in New Jersey in the 2013 Congressional Arts Competition. "Refreshed" is still hanging in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington D.C. next to other winning artworks from this year's competition.
