If you don't know what glory is (as was the case with Alice in "Through the Looking Glass"), this image might help you. Decide for yourself. I think this Dandelion is glorious. I used again a very long reflex lens (450mm on my Fuji X-sensor) which is ultra-sensitive when it comes to camera (or object) shake. Because of this, I could not do this shot outside - too windy. The shutter was not only set to "timer" but also to "electronic" in order to minimise vibration. With these precautions it is possible to achieve a sharp close-up, such as this one, even with a reflex lens (that reflects the image twice with mirrors before it is refracted through lenses and only then hits the sensor).

The commonplace is also beautiful.
I like how the mirror lens bokeh simplifies and abstracts chicory flowers in the background. Might've said it before, but I no longer think of these lenses as flawed. They more just have a certain set of features that are sometimes advantageous and sometimes not.
Since I've previously quipped that "Mirror lenses resolve nothing," I feel like I should set the record straight.
Is this a great lens for wildlife photography? Still no! (Though it's surprising what some people do with them.)
As an art lens, on the other hand, I think certain mirror lenses have great potential.
So a somewhat overlooked lens for a commonplace subject… I don't think it's necessarily a recipe for mediocrity.
Does this image demonstarte that? Everyone who views this will be the judge of that.

The water crowfoot flowers that I saw the first time, were so much smaller than my image. They were only 1 cm in diameter.

Vintage Yashica ML 8.0 500mm Reflex (mirror lens) on Sony A7RIII.
The Yashica ML Reflex 500mm for the Contax/Yashica system is one of the most interesting reflex lenses which have ever been build. Its one of the most compact with just 470 g and one of the sharpest. But most of the Yashica reflex lenses still on the market today are the non "ML" variant predecessors which are very different.
