When the ocean drinks the sky and you witness the beauty of a cold Atlantic sunrise, it is truly breathtaking.
I came home from my adventure that day with the best feels. Hit with the usual question, "did you get something," I didn't have to respond with my normal shrug. I did something crazy....I had actually planned and researched and sort of got what I intended. (I'll post that photo next week....this window was just a bonus find along my journey!) And no, the intended photo was not entirely perfect, definitely a few bumps on the way, but yeah, who knew....planning actually can make things easier! Is everyone rolling their eyes yet because apparently I'm a slow learner!
I want to feel more of what I felt that morning. I'm a stubborn girl but I'm actually going to start listening to those people that have been telling me to start making plans, doing the research, and setting myself up to 'win'.
Yup...I've written it down so now there is no turning back. If you don't see me doing the prep work, executing, and posting something decent by July, I'd appreciate a not so gentle nudge. :-)
Wishing you all a happy Wednesday and the joy that comes from organizing your next great adventure!

Explore # 431 on Saturday, 31 January 2009 - the 281st
Will this give me my 280th Explore?
With thanks to all of you for the constant support and visit on my stream.
I am still using my notebook and it's punishing me,
Beautiful sunrise with amazing colours, clouds & reflections.
Happy Fence Friday.
Have a great weekend!
One of my hopes for the week in Scotland was to get a sunset shot of the mighty Suilven. My opportunity came and I splodged across the very boggy path from the road to the shore of Cam Loch. I was well prepared this time and had plenty midge repellent which seemed to work OK and it was a pleasant experience watching the day end with a view to this magnificent mountain.

Late afternoon collection of convection clouds over Hamilton Lake (Lake Rotoroa). Apparently they used to swim in this lake, before the ducks arrived. Perhaps under the proposed new water standards we could do it again. I don't think so!
Another one from this past weekend. The beauty of this shore line can not be replicated. Trying to capture something so magnificent like this is almost impossible, but I'll live with this shot as a good try.

" I like beautiful melodies telling me terrible things" Tom Waits
Which is why I love the music and lyrics of Tom Waits so much.
Just recently my best friend went to LA (just before the outbreak) and she dined in a restaurant in the table next to Tom Waits and his family. She said he did not look well.
Since she is my best friend and "What's Apped" me at the time, with six degrees of separation, I was almost sitting there too ;-)
