For my last photography assignment, i was to pick a photo journalist, emulate his/her style, and pick a topic in society that i could compose a 6 picture photo essay on.
Having just gone on a recycling tour at Penn State and with Earth Day quickly approaching, i thought it would be appropriate to do an essay on Penn State's waste management and recycling efforts.

Having just gone on a recycling tour at Penn State and with Earth Day quickly approaching, i thought it would be appropriate to do an essay on Penn State's waste management and recycling efforts.
Swiveling the camera from foreground to the rest of the large exhibit hall, the combination of words, artifacts, video kiosk (looped playback with subtitles instead of audio), and a lot of bilingual label texts makes an impressive show of engaging visitors along all these languages: verbal, visual, familiar and unfamiliar, abstract concepts and embodied artifacts. Each visitor brings different interests and awareness to the exhibition. So presenting the exhibit theme in all these ways is bound to touch everybody in some way.

January 27th. Don't be blue - GO GREEN! I used to go through SO many water bottles every week that I was getting a guilt complex.
I was also terrified of the new BPS findings on nalgene. Enter my new BFF - the non-BPA Camelback....AND it holds a whole liter of water.
I'm not getting poisoned AND making less waste - double score!!!
