A shot from an unsettled morning in the summer which fairly fleetingly gave some great colour in the sky. I ran from the car to try to grab a shot at these much-photographed abandoned millstones before the colour faded, arriving just in time.

Here in Maryland, we've got rain on the way, but for about 20 minutes this morning, the sunrise was crazy. Thats two great sunrises in a row for me. Love the early morning light.
I pass this tree by the side of the A614 on the way to and from work and always thought it would look good with a sunrise behind it. Anyway, this morning was too good an opportunity to miss and I finally stopped and got my shot.
this mornings sunrise, yesterday i was really annoyed that i didnt take the camera with me to work so today a day when i dont normally work (but we were interviewing) i stopped on the way in the cold to get several shots which i am really happy with and couldnt decide.
but i bow to my dad and my H's choice!

The pre-dawn sky was on fire this morning, although by the time the sun made it's appearance, most of the colour had drained away. I tried to get to Penshaw and capture the spectacle, but it was disappearing fast by the time I was in position to frame this shot.
A bit of a pause in the slide show sequence to stop and see all of the colors laced into the clouds! I’m just so glad that I had the chance to be there while it was happening!
Just a little clarification about the soak-down that I experienced! It was probably my fault as much as it was the gars! I don’t usually paddle like that, but I was at full tilt with the canoe when it happened and probably scared him as much as he scared me! Well…maybe not! As Gary stated…these guys can really surprise when you’re paddling along quietly and then they explode in the water without warning! Hope you enjoy the sunrise and that everyone has a wonderful weekend!
