Tenderloin 😊 it’s what’s for dinner, medium for me please.
For my 365 in January I’m only capturing black and white photos Thanks for looking!
Sunday we had incredible dinner as we celebrated my Goddaughters and nieces birthday, their Father is a Chef at the Essex by Central park, we had fantastic spread before dinner, the main course was incredible!
The Watermelon radish, also known as Rooseheart or Red Meat, is an heirloom Chinese Daikon radish.
Few other items that you don't see often in a salad, like Japanese black Radish Lollipop kale or goat cheese fritters,
sprinkled with an incredibly tasting dressing.

The latest science does not recommend limiting unprocessed meat based on personal preferences, and values. Unprocessed meat has not been shown to be assocated with cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, or heart failure in a recent global study of over 150,000 people (PURE Study)
Tonight I made a version of a spicy hot dog chili and cooked it on the weber grill. I then poured this chili over some fritos and then topped it with cubed pepper jack cheese, diced onion, sour cream and a spicy honey garlic sauce.
Someday I may reveal my spicy hot dog chili recipe but today wont be the day, This recipe is only known to me, the Almighty, and my dog. We know she's not talking!

Strictly speaking one can't fish for seals because seals aren't fish. At least, we don't regard them as such today. But in the Middle Ages they counted as fish and so red meat could be had during Lent when fasting prohibited meaty foods.
From the late sixteenth century until as late as 1962, seals were considered legitimate game in The Netherlands. They were hunted and eaten, their blubber and liver could be made into oils for medicine and for lamps, their skins into leather and fur coats. Moreover, seals were considered pests of the sea that put fishermen out of work because of their voracious appetite for herring and other fish. In fact, down through the centuries bounties were often posted for seals.
Although seal meat was still occasionally consumed on some of the Dutch Wadden Islands, notably Schiermonnikoog and Ameland, until well after World War II, I don't think it was sold by fishmongers. Certainly not on Amsterdam's Haarlemmerdijk.
Haarlemmerdijk 39 is a beautifully restored art nouveau building designed by François Marie Joseph Caron (1867-1945). It was built in 1896 for the fishmongering Roeraade family, and was named for daughter Neeltje (1873-1935). Art nouveau is notable for its asymmetrical style, which at first glance seems to have symmetry. Interestingly both tableaux appear to show 'natural' hunters of fish, an Octopus and a Seal. Of couse in the shop - when it still sold fish and fruit: fishmongers and their clientele. Would Neeltje rather have been compared to an Octopus or to a Seal?
Curious combination, too, that 'Visch & Fruithandel'. I don't think I've ever seen both products sold in the same shop. Might the term have been a pun for the French 'Fruits de Mer' (as in seafood platter)?
...Stumbled upon this most unholy package of ground beef last night whilst looking for burger meat for the "barbie"...
I was going to buy it for the "Hell" of it, but alas it was a bit too lean for us, at 93% and 7% fat... (not nearly greasy enough for our barbie folks)...
Thanks to Creepella for the title!!..LOL!!

I honestly can say that I don't know if I will ever find another steak that will top this one. This was one of the most tender and flavorful steaks I have ever been served

If you are not a meat lover you may take a pass on viewing this shot.
I am an old boy from Alberta where beef was king, or queen, like in cut size?
Our old Le Creuset Cast Iron 10" (26cm) Square Skillet Grill Pan is getting another workout.
About twice a month we enjoy a ground pepper crusted beef tenderloin grilled on the Creuset.
The steaks were just laid on the super hot pan. They will come off with cross-hatch sear marks on both sides.
They get served with baked potato (Russet, only russet, also known as Idaho bakers) and vegetables (beets or carrots or asparagus) and a caesar salad.
The meal gets washed down with full bodied red wine. Yummy, yummy in the tummy, tummy.
The treat is gong to be enjoyed less often as the price of beef is going (gone) into the stratosphere. A 40% increase January to October, 2021.
A lone beef seller in a country where the word for "meat" is synonymous with the idea for "pork" .. you want any other meat you need to specify it, else you get pork.
The beginning stages of a bacon cheeseburger. I took a half pound of ground beef and mixed in Rufus Teague Meat Rub. I placed in 2 slices of Griller's Bacon (A thick 1/2 inch cut of bacon) from Greg's Meats of Hampton Minnesota and a chopped onion
All ingredients were fried in a cast iron fry pan. I put a nice caramelization on the onions and then topped the burger with 2 slices of American cheese, A lid was used to catch steam and melt the cheese
After melting the cheese I placed the burger topped with both the bacon and onion into a hamburger bun from Hanisch Bakery in Red Wing Minnesota. In my opinion they make the best hamburger buns that I can find.
Condiments used were Mayonnaise and BBQ sauce

My wife and I stopped in here to have lunch and watch the Minnesota Vikings game. Our waitress was telling us about the specials and she had mentioned the open faced prime.
I ordered it and was expecting to be served the prime rib sliced on a hoagie style bun. I was pleasantly surprised when this arrived at the table.
This beautiful slab of prime rib on a couple slices of garlic toast is what greeted me. It was delicious! Cooked to perfection and very tender. It also came with a side of au jus and chipotle mayonnaise.

This burger was incredible! Double Patties, 2 Strips of bacon, American Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Onion and Thousand Island Dressing.
This is a place you can have a lot of fun in. I sat at the bar with a bunch of the "regulars" and had a great time! They were fun bunch of people and really made me feel welcome.
I stopped in here after photographing the 2017 Defrost your nuts motorcycle ride (More pics of that coming) I'm glad I did, I will be back!
