From one of my (many) favorite TV series: The Mentalist.
My biggest expectation of Myanmar was that it would be a bit under developed, with very little Western influence. How wrong I was! Whilst out from the city centres, and in some places in the cities remain needing running water, electricity etc, there are signs that the country is not as under developed as you might think. Round the corner from our hotel in Yangon (Rangoon) was a supermarket called "Ruby Market". This was pretty much the first place we ate, and has 2 cafe's one on the ground floor one on the top floor. Whilst we ate there we listened to the very latest chart music being played, surrounded by people talking on mobile phones (not internationally networked) drinking latte's, eating croissants along with local fare.
The title of this shot is a nod to one of my favourite programs, "The Mentalist" whose nemesis is "Red John" who draws smileys in blood - This wasn't blood!!
Red John is a fictional character and the leading antagonist on the CBS crime drama The Mentalist. He is a famous serial killer who began killing in 1998. Five years prior to the action of the first episode, he murdered the wife and the daughter of protagonist Patrick Jane (Simon Baker), making Jane his dedicated nemesis.
As part of his criminal signature, Red John draws a smiley face on the wall with the blood of the victim—always clockwise, using the three fingers of his rubber-gloved right hand.
Actually, this is a face drawn on a rock outcrop near the intersections of Hwy 27/29 and 328 between Harriman and Wartburg, Tennessee!
I Fangirl squee everytime I see this xD. My minifee Jane (named after patrick jane >.>) got a hoodie Fromm Pintezka with the Red John crying smiley face from the tv show 'the mentalist' I'm not a big tv buff but it's the one show I watch religously. I hope to go into forensic psychology when I finish my degree. Thankyou so much pintezka! It looks amasin on her.
