Dear friends, I've returned yesterday from another nice trip to France (Aquitaine). Trying to catch up as soon as possible....

At first I've spent a great time in the region between the lakes of Biscarosse (close to the Atlantic Ocean) and the Bassin d'Arcachon.

I wish you a wonderful autumn time and those friends in the Southern Hemisphere a lovely Spring :-)

A very brief window of sun during the first of back-to-back Red Flag 07-2 media days at Nellis AFB, 13 years ago today.

Tragically this aircraft was lost the following year, along with its pilot, Lt. Col. Thomas "Moses" Bouley.

This 389th FS, 366th FW F-15E gets airborne from Nellis AFB 12 years ago today at the start of a Red Flag mission.

Red Flag 07-2 really was an awesome exercise for participation, not least for the 8th FS "Black Sheep" and its F-117A Nighthawks.

I've photographed few stranger shapes in the sky than the Stealth Fighter, and, judging by the stains on the undersides of every single example that landed this day, they all appear to leak like sieves!

The harsh lighting meant that a black and white edit HAD to be the way to go with this shot.

The imposing and (in the west) notorious Tiananmen square in Beijing. Taken on tour of China and Hong Kong in 2017.

This was taken 27th May 2025 on Brighton Beach. This was the day after Bank Holiday Monday. Strong winds and driving rain were consrant throughout the day. This family were having a picnic regardless.....

An utterly ridiculous day at the Nellis AFB EOR 13 years ago today. Without doubt my favourite day on base ever.

A calm Baltic Sea and weather out there. The light was constantly changing, it was wonderful to be on the beach that day
