When I came outside I was first confused because I saw the sun shining very brightly in front of me, the position where it is usually at noon. However this was at 5:30pm.

After standing for a while in awe, I realized that he setting sun (behind me) was hitting the building at the end of the street (in front), and diffused in a brilliant white - almost like an artificial flash light, causing interesting hard edged double shadows and a white cast over everything. It was one of the most remarkable natural lighting situations i've ever seen.

Notice the double shadows clearly visible on the four standing in the middle of the intersection.

This is slide film. Interesting to compare to the shot that came from the negative 800z film right after this one in the photostream.

Shot in the tunnel under the General Ulysses S. Grant memorial monument in Lincoln Park. Big thanks Robert, flicker name Sledzik for helping me with this one. He used a blue l.e.d to illuminate the police barricade while I burned.

Shot after a rain 2 nights ago. The tulips had a flood light shining from underneath. It created this kind of a fake look. I only adjusted WB and cropped.

I meant to post this to show my excitement that I live a few minutes away from this historic theater where the Northwest Chicago Film Society has been showing lots of interesting movies (for $5, and there's an organ player). But now there's another ridiculous story in its saga and right now the theater's closed and I don't know what'll happen to the NWCFS schedule! www.redeyechicago.com/news/local/chi-portage-theater-clos...

I shot this while returning from a long day with my nephew. My girlfriend and I took him (chris) to Legoland discovery center in Schaumburg. Very cool place for the kids. When I was scouting location for this a car stopped and reversed down the block. This gentleman jumps out looking very dapper. To my surprise it was Jim watkins returning from a function.. Small world.. hahaha

This one might be my favorite picture.

March 28, 2009.

I managed to snap a few pics from my roof before being pelted by another round of blowing sleet!

The fog probably made for less of an impact, but must have been very gotham-like downtown.

Best viewed large.

spotted on my block. a tangled mess of work signs, in the typical chicago fashion

I spent two hours at the Ventra Customer Service line downtown on October 1, and all they could tell me is that my Chicago Card is registered, and that I should be receiving my Ventra Card "shortly".

What exactly is "shortly"? A week? A month (which would be around the time that Chicago Cards are no longer accepted on the CTA)? The beginning of next year? WHEN?

There were some pissed off folks in that Ventra line, including one dumb-ass kid who was using his Ventra as a debit card multiple times at McDonald's, and had racked up multiple usage fees. Well, they said that would happen. Doesn't he watch the news?

UPDATE: 10/3/13 - Multiple riders have reported receiving dozens of Ventra cards apiece. One Chicago man received 100 addressed just to him.

Taken on a rolleiflex and post processed a bit to give it that slight lomo feel. I don't know why, cuz I hate that usually, but it sems to fit here. This is a wiring post outside our band practice space in Logan Square.

I'm pretty sure this is the cat from this article since this was found in that area.
