Loved the contrast of the dark and ominous clouds with the brief ray of sunlight highlighting tops of the hills and trees.

The reflections in the lake were magical and the red canoe added a punch of colour to the scene.

I have a dream, a song to sing

To help me cope with anything

If you see the wonder of a fairy tale

You can take the future even if you fail

I believe in angels

Something good in everything I see

I believe in angels

When I know the time is right for me

I'll cross the stream, I have a dream.

I had a very busy weekend and no time to be online. I don't think I'll be able to catch up with what I missed, but I will visit your latests posts today :)

...catchy title, huh?!

The magic of a red canoe...

Thank you!

Enjoy your new week.

A couple of happy souls canoeing around Spirit Island and Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park, Alberta, on the most perfect of days...actually too perfect some clouds would have made a more interesting composition.

We actually took this out on the water a few times in 2007...

Last night's -6C overnight temperatures threw a cold, frosty blanket over my summer garden but as the temperatures during the day climbed my flowers perked up and made me smile :-))

Hope you do too!

Or, maybe not so good.

But "adequate to the last drop" somehow doesn't have the same kind of zing.

And, I'm all about the zing.

Either way, this is the last of my little red canoe in a drop series.

Please hold your applause.

(Why do I suddenly sound like curious spider?)

Sunrise Over Nine Mile Pond, Everglades National Park, FL

The sun finally showed up, almost 10 minutes after sunrise and of course I had to get my pirated canoe in the shot... LOL. For anyone who knows the location you can see I didn't move it too far. And I also put it back from where I took it. I might be crazy, but I do clean up after me. ;-)

You can see how the drought has affected the lake.

Lake Louise - Alberta, Canada.

I'm still posting from the archives. Red canoes lined up on beautiful early summer morning on Lake Louise in Banff National Park. Thanks for visiting!

Not every day is full of sunshine and roses. Weather wise, this one was no exception - but it didn't rain, there was a wonderful sense of stillness, and most of the other campers in this provincial park were at the beach one lake over. That suited us just fine!

After my fog post the other day, many of you have asked about the health and welfare of my little red canoe ... this is for you! (No comments necessary)

Please rest assured, he is safe and sound during this Winter... and will see you again when the weather warms up!

(I notice that a few of these are cropped strange, because of the square limitations...)

I've had this on my hard drive since April...glancing at it every once in awhile.

Today I was either going to delete it or post it.

(I hope I made the right decision.)

Oh, and yeah...the little red canoe is back.

See it larger if you'd like.

Here is another shot of the red canoe. I took this 20 minutes after the shot I uploaded previously and we got the first hint of the sunrise here. the sun was up in another 10 minutes or so,

It always surprises me the colors the camera captures when it's still quite dark. Once it gets light and comfortable for our eyes to see all the color in the sky just vanishes and we are in for a wait until the sun is about to come up.

Lake Louise, Alberta

Canada

What makes Lake Louise unique and gives it this unual colour?

Lake Louise's awe-inspiring turquoise color comes from the glacial meltwater that feeds the lake each Spring. This meltwater is rich in glacier salt or rock flour, which is created by the waters eroding the rocks as they make their way to the lake.As glacial meltwater carries sediments, it creates a suspension in the water, scattering light and causing it to appear this colour of blue. The combination of glacial milk and the reflective properties of the suspended rock flour particles results in lakes such as Lake Moraine and Lake Louise exibiting breathtaking shades of blue.
