So here is the pair of 56's 56091 & 56103 with '6Z91' from Westbury (15:24 off) going down to Southampton Up Yard. This working today had to have a breather at Salisbury for an hour to allow the loco's to cool down after they had overheated in the high temperatures during their efforts to raise this 1800-ton train up and over the Upton Scudamore Incline nr Warminster.Even a Class-59 struggles quite hard on that gradient! They are viewed at Test Lane in Redbridge by now running well over an hour behind booked time.I was very pleased they made it this far!

DMU's are not one of my strong points, that said fairly sure this is a Class 123 set. The Year is 1968 but apart from that i don't know a lot, its the Western region I think and the gasometer makes me think of somewhere on the outskirts of London but could be completely wrong as only double track. The lorries say Dulux but look like a warehouse rather than a paint factory. Help please.
I bought the slide as love the mix of green and blue and white liveries, the photographer is unknown.

This former Dublin Olympian was the final example with Redbridge Transport. Passing to a dealer in London, it eventually found a home in a school playground near Wakefield via a third party. There were two very similar projects running at the same time, the other using a Volvo B7 Alx400 for a school in Leeds. Unfortunately i pulled the short straw and ended up delivering the B7 to Armley but "you cant always have what you want" ! S265YOO

By this time (2007), Freightliner had discarded all their Class 47s.

47358 had already been stopped, while 47309 was active for another 7 months until January 2006.
47358 "Ivanhoe" was built at Brush in December 1964 (Works No. 552).
It was stored 22 March 2005 from Freightliner's DFLM pool and moved out from Southampton Maritme to TJ Thomson at Stockton on 16 August 2007. It was finally scrapped on 5 March 2009.
47309 "European Rail Operator of the Year" was built at Brush in June 1965 (Works No. 639).
It was stored on 22 January 2006, from Freightliner's DFFT pool.
Initially sent to the Wensleydale Railway in October 2007, it was moved to Thomson's to join 37358 in May 2008.
It was then scrapped there a month earlier than 47358 on 25 February 2009.
