Moylough Castle is a rectangular keep or hall house dating from the first half of the thirteenth century, probably between 1235 – 1240. While detailed records are rare, two English landowners by the names of de Cotterals and de Cogeshales who in all probability may have built, or were tenants of the Castle. Around this time the area around Moylough was known as Ui Diarmada and had been ruled by the O’Concannons. Richard de Bermingham held the area during the invasion.

The Castle comprises of three stories built of local limestone rubble set in hard whitish lime mortar. Gravel from nearby esker ridges would have been used as the core. The walls are 2meters thick and rise to a height of 14 meters and strengthened by a base batter which is the outward slope on the wall which adds stability to the castle. It survives to roof level on three sides but the south west wall has now collapsed. The entrance is at first floor level and a timber stairs probably gave access to the door.

The ground floor was probably used for storage and maybe as servants’ quarters. Seven narrow vertical loop windows lit the room. The first floor is lighted by narrow windows with semi circular heads; the best preserved one on the North West wall. Their size indicates they were constructed for light rather than defensive purposes. No evidence of a stone stairs leading to the first floor survives but it can be assumed that the first floor was accessed by a timber ladder through a hole in the floor.

Strong timber beams built into the long side walls supported the timber floor overhead. The slots are still visible today. Holes for draw – bars are still evident, presumably to secure shutters. The second story had a timber floor also. A steep spiral stairs led to the wall walk and battlements. The roof would probably have been made of thatch or wooden shingles. Most doors had a single leaf and opened inwards, but on the north east wall is a recess which accommodated the door when fully opened.

The beautifully preserved Fork Church is a rectangular form Georgian church erected for St. Paul's Parish in 1722. Since 1726, this has been the mother church for St. Martin's Parish. "Fork" is derived from the confluence of the North and South Anna Rivers to the east of the nearby village of Doswell.

The Fork Church has been in continuous use since its construction in 1722, a rarity among many of its counterparts that have survived periods of dormancy and abandonment throughout their histories. The interior of Fork Church preserves some original fabric, including the west gallery, staircase, and wrought iron hinges on its doors. The small brick porches that cover the west and south doors of Fork Church were constructed in 1804.

The configuration of the church's interior has been in place since 1913 when a restoration was carried out to balance contemporary liturgical needs with the church's historic use and arrangement. The marble baptismal font, believed to originate from London, was originally used at the Lower Church of St. Stephen's Parish in King and Queen Counties. It was later brought to Fork Church after its original church ceased to function after the disestablishment.

Fork Church also preserves a historic pipe organ, built by Henry F. Berger of Baltimore in 1855. It is one of two Berger organs known to exist and has been restored.

throw pillow with toile, and twill fabric. Tie ribbons on the sides are sewn onto the twill fabric. My other alternative was to make button holes on the sides for the ribbons to go through--but that's more work.

This was me, eleven years ago.

And the fact that we have a picture this big cracks me up.

The Olive Grove Coffee Table (Rectangular) was inspired by the serene beauty of olive tree orchards. Olive was one of the main elements in ancient Israelite cuisine. Olive oil was used not only for food and cooking, but also for lighting, sacrificial offerings, ointment, and anointment for priestly or royal office. The olive branch has been a symbol of peace or victory since ancient times, and was historically worn by brides and virgins. Leafy branches of the olive tree were even found in Tutankhamun’s tomb. The Olive Grove Coffee Table was designed by Shah Gilani, ASFD. Reminiscent of the natural beauty and mild climate of the Mediterranean Basin, from Portugal to the Levant, it makes an exceptional cocktail table for upscale residential and hospitality interiors. It is recommended that the Olive Grove Coffee Table base be used with a rectangular or racetrack glass top. Robust metal construction allows the table base to support a heavy glass top without shaking. Custom sizing is available. The table base is offered in a variety of finishes.
